Thread: My idea to revitalize space PvP and bring back the JTL ships.

Once they advance the timeline along, they could perhaps do instanced space PvP battles. For those of you with WoW, it would be similar to the Battlegrounds. In these areas, only certain ship models would be allowed.

For example, lets say the Battle of Endor where the Rebels engaged the Star Destroyers.

Rebel allowable ships:

X-Wing

A-Wing

Y-Wing (two-man and Longprobe)

B-Wing

Heavy X-Wing

Maybe the Nova Courier

Imperial allowable:

TIE Fighter

TIE Interceptor

TIE Bomber

Heavy TIE

Maybe a couple TIE Advances

Maybe the RGI

Maybe the Decimator

I'm not sure how Freelancers would be brought into this, but they should have to declare a side before entering.

Obviously this is only an example and there could be other ones where different ships would be allowed, but I think that in none of the major ones should the ARC-170, Belbullab-22, or JSF be allowed.

this sounds like a rebel that is tired of getting his reat kicked by Imp JSFs and Advanceds.

Completely wrong. In that case it is the Battle of Endor. Do you remember seeing JSFs flying every which way as the Home One moved in to fire on the Star Destroyers? I only said maybe a couple TIE Advances as I don't know about their production numbers as of the time of the Battle of Endor.

ok... got the flame out of my system so here is something contructive.

I am on starsider and we have a lot of PvP action... both in DS and mass battles so I will tell you what happens here to get more PvP on your server. Our mass battles are "you can bring any ship you want", but it is held outside of DS so that non-masters can participate too. This happens to limit the amount of "non-replaceable" ships (JSF/Heavy x-wing/RG Tie/etc.). The mass battles pull in people to be part of a group and is really great for moral with in guilds. From this more people get involved in PvP in general. Those that have issues with the decay still hear the stories and want to PvP so they go to DS and lots of people use DS to test out configurations in anticipation for the mass battles.

In that case, there should be no RG ties, no oppressors, no interceptors, no advanced's (Darth Vaders was the only one), no POB ships except one YT-1300... so on and so forth. Good idea... but too many restictions.

There were TIE Adv. in the X-Wing Alliance version of the battle of endor.

It's make sense to have RG TIE's present too, since the Emperor was staying there. Heck, there were intereceptors there in the movie even (where do you think you first saw them on screen?)

this sounds like deep space as it is, only without the instance. Is that all you got?
