Thread: Anyone with an X-45? Question...

I've had JTL for months now and am just starting to get into the actual game itself. I have hooked up my Saitek X-45 and am having a blast. My question is this:
Has anyone remapped their stick so that the stick itself controls pitch and roll, instead of pitch and yaw? Its easy for me to roll as I have my "rudder" controls right on the throttle of my setup, but I was wondering if anyone has tried this more traditional combo.

Ya, since every other flying game has it mapped out that way and I didn't want to try and learn a new way just for this game.

just checked it. go to keymap while in space. click rebind for roll and move your main joystick side to side. The go to yaw, click rebind and hit one of the rudder buttons on your throttle. I just tried it using my x36 saitek.

I have the model right before the X-45, and my buddy has the X-45. I know he has been able to switch his around, but I haven't tried it yet. I'm not sure if you can do it in game or it is something you have to change in the actual saitek config. I'll check it out tonight and see if i can come up with anything.

1. You can do it in game regardless of your joystick.
2. The way it is setup is how space sim games work (and even how the actual space shuttle works I hear), so its not more traditional. The stick is used for roll in atmospheric sims. I do both and I actually prefer the setups seperated like that, so I remember when I have to worry about gravity
