Just hit 4/4/4/4, and I wanted to use the Level 4 Astromech's. So, I went to go pick up some Engine Overload 4 chips, and some Weapon Overload 4 chips. So, after loading my droid up, went into space, overloaded reactor, then capacitor, but as soon as I try Engine Overload 4, disables my weapons. I have a 16,000 energy reactor, using 12,000 of the overall energy from equipment. Did this 5 different times, all failed.
So, what am I doing wrong?
Also, how to fix ships after they get disabled from overloads? I tried using Space stations, but they only repair 1 disabled thing, and it actually doesn't enable it, tried using Ship repair kits, didn't work. I waited aroud for 20 mins. Then I had to log/re-log to get it off of me....

Same stuff happened to me and id like to know if theres a fix for this also

Engine Overload 4 has an efficiency of 0.1, meaning if your engine has a Reactor Drain of 2500, using EO4 it require 25,000. It take a VERY large reactor to operate this program.
As for Weapon Overload 4, if you had gotten it to work, you would have drained your capacitor in 3 shots. WO4 has the same reactor efficiency as EO4.
For more info, see the stickies: Pilot FAQ 3.0, droid breakdown.

You will conveniently have no problems if you switch to weapon overload 3
Continue with overload 4 for the rest of your core systems.

Just repairing your ship should have fixed everything. Otherwise, just landing and launching would have worked. You should not have needed to log/re-log.
If you run reactor overload 4, you might have enough juice for engine overload 4. RO4 increases reactor energy by 1.9. E04 increases reactor energy drain of your engine by 10x. What is your engine reactor drain?
Assuming your engine needs 2000 reactor energy, and you were at 12000/16000, running E04 will put you at 30000/16000. Running R04 before E04 will put you at 30000/30400. Just enough.
I have not tried running W04, but I think it would be fairly hard to run both EO4 and WO4 at the same time. Stick to WO3.

Also, unless you have a HUGE (and very cery rare reactor) don't even dream about RO4 with a crafted engine, almost regardless what other overloads you plan to use. Crafted engines are in the 2500 reactor energy drain range while looted ones are almost 1000 less generally.

level 4 overloads are a waste. level 3 is incredibly more effecient.
lvl 4's have a massive increase in drain over lvl 3, with a very minor increase in productivity. It's simply not worth it, at all, ever.

I've got a RTC-Z reverse engineered reactor that produces 38k energy. Reading this thread has prompted me to think what I could to in my B-wing with 4 overloaded guns at stage 4. I wonder how quickly I can kill a tier 5 gunboat.....hmm....

Before you do that, please note that the reason you can fire as much as you can with weapon overload 3 is because it is bugged and doesn't increase the energy per shot, it reduces it... If you use weapon overload 4 in a B-wing, I hope you have at least a lvl 8 capacitor and weapon capacitor overload 4, because you'll be dry firing very fast.

I won't list all of the stats, but on my Grevious and Actis I have a 14k reactor. I run the following programs in the following order:
- Reactor Overload 4 - very important, gives power for the other overloads
-Weapon Overload 3 - eh, if they won't fix the bugs, I'll use them. This gives you even more power
-Cap overcharge 4 - Cap regens even faster for cap to shield shunt
-Engine Overload 4 - Weeeeee! I like the speed, what can I say?
And in combat run cap to shield shunt 4. Piece of cake, and it doesn't disable anything. But the important aspect to it is running the first two programs first.

If you are going to end your session in Deep Space for decayless repair upon exit, running reactor 4 and engine 4 has its advantages, even cap 4 if you've got a big reactor to start with.

I disagree. 100 more speed with EO4 over EO3 in my Decimator, and almost another25 on top of that with the boost. The ability to outrun almost anything that moves is very nice in emergencies.
