Thread: who has soloed a Star Destroyer?
i'm just curious if its pretty common
/raises hand
I have about 4 solo kills of the ISD, 8 ISD kills total - Last time I was out I killed it twice in a row solo and then once more again with a partner, one trip to Dantooine on those three kills. What I discovered during that last run is that in regards to payout there is little gained in killing the SD... reason: once the SD is destroyed all Imperial NPC targets in Deep Space will disappear on the spawn of the new SD. All of the activity in DS originates from the ISD, if you wait and watch you'll see every gunboat/decimator convoy, every fighter group drops from under the SD and moves along a patrol pattern. Destroying the ISD nets you 500 FP, 10,000 Rebel Prestige and about 12k credits... but when it disappears you remove the countless gunboat/fighter/decimators that could get you much more and they will continue to come so long as the ISD is alive.
My resulition: Do not destroy the ISD, the craft associated with it in space are worth much-much more... It's worth more to me alive then dead...

Takes time but easy ... after all it was also possible in Xwing
1) It caused a reset of the battlefield which left deep space empty for half an hour.
2) Some fellow imperials were slightly grumpy that I took away the ships they were fighting *laughs*
3) It gave a whopping 10k prestige (lame)
4) It gave a whopping 10k in credits (I would have preferred to kill the half dozen corvettes and two dozen gunboats instead and got parts and money :/)
5) All I got for killing it was a level 3 booster with bad stats.

Did it in a well-crewed YT-1300, which was harder (and infinitly more rewarding, even though if you take a look at my "deep space woes" post, you wouldn't think so), than doing it solo in my Dunelizard
.
I have to agree a single YT is a great accomplishment. HArder then what I have done
