Sorry if this has been asked before.

A friend and I like to play our missions together. We have just discovered that the Ywing has a 'manned' turret available, allowing two players to fight in the same ship. How do we make that happen? Do we just have be grouped and have one select and launch their ship? Also, I noticed that the Ywing LP does not have a 'manned' turret. Is there an advantage or drawback to manning a turret? What is the primary advantage or drawback to to the Ywing LP upgrade?

Once again, sorry if thesehave been asked before, I do not have a lot of time to search the forums these days.

And thank you for any responses.

you need to be grouped and the owner of the ship have to consent to the grouped comrade to "enter" in the ship, to do that ther's a group button near the "launch the ship" one.

the standard Y-wing is a bit more maneuverable while the LP have a bit more mass

at low level the mass difference is ininfluental so as you can see the main difference is that one have 1 gun and 1 turret and need 2 players to work at full potential, while the other have 2 guns that are used by the pilot.

the Y-wing turret have a nice arc, but beware that is not so easy to aim while the pilot chase an opponent or do evasive maneuvers, some practice both by the gunner and the pilot is really needed to be effective.

To take someone up to man the turret in the Y-Wing, they must be grouped with you and near the starship terminal with you when you launch your ship.

The advantage in the manned turret is the ability to shoot anywhere but forward. A person in the turret can shoot at targets behind, to the sides, etc. The disadvantage is when the pilot turns the ship, the turret turns with it so it would take a lot of practice to be able to stay on a target from the turret.

Also, the pilot can't fire the turret even when there is no one manning it, so as a solo pilot in the Y-Wing you have a single weapon. In the longprobe, the pilot gets both weapons shooting forward.

Cancelled 7/27/05 - I joined to play Star Wars, not Jedi-BH Wars. You've ignored/gutted/abused just about every other profession in the game, while spending most of your time working on Jedi and BH as they related to Jedi. You've basically killed the game for anyone who doesn't want the glowstick. Congratulations.
