Thread: Any reason why I can't shoot imperials anymore as a privateer?

Hello All,

I mastered the smugglers freelance squadron, I before I was able to shoot both imp and rebels in Kessel (My final mission was the imp vette). Now it seems I dont have the ability to shoot imps anymore. A friend says it is because I master pilot and then it starts taking your ground faction into consideration, however I could swear I was shooting imps after master. The only other thing I did was to raise my faction rank (I am imp on the ground by the way). Just for the record, I was not overt in kessel

Thank you all for your time.

Did you go to Deep Space at some point? Privateers have a bug (I think it's a bug, anyway) where when you declare for Deep Space, whichever faction you chose will be your default from there on out with that ship, leaving you only able to attack the one side. Redeeding it should let you target either faction again, though.

Did you become imp after mastering?

I amalso Imperial on the ground and freelancer in spaceand was never able to shoot Imperial ships (they were white and un-damagable, but reb ships were yellow and attackable) Nothing changed for me after master though. Its funny you say your mission was the Imperial vette, I picked up a mission from a station once (Talus or Rori) and the attacking "enemy" ships were TIEs and I could not attack them, nor did they aggro me. Im not sure how ground Imperials finish the SA though, as I dont know anyone who did that profession tree that is Imperial on the ground. Weird indeed.

Edit: Bleah just read Tomo's post again. Yes, if you were neutral the first time you went into DS, picked Imperial, then later went Imperial on the ground then its possible you would not be able to attack them later on. If you were ground Imperial at the time you went into DS, then you would have only gotten the option to declare for the Empire.

Are you RSF, Laffite? They have an alliance with the Empire and can't target Imperial ships. If not, that's bizarre.

I was Smuggler's Alliance as a ground Imperial for a while and was able to attack both sides up to the time I first went to Deep Space, so that in itself shouldn't be a problem.

Yeah, Im RSF.

This alone might be your issue. It might not hurt, though,to see if you have the same situation in other ships and if you continue to have after deeding/generating your ship(s). If you still do, then consider it a hazard of the profession.

hmmm, No, I have always been imperial on the ground, pretty much since the game itself came out. I did go into deep space and it forced me to pick imperial (which was not a problem). I will try to redeed my krayt today and give it another try. I will post my result here afterwards and then bug it if that actually solved the issue.

Thank you all for the help!
