Thread: Benefits of better Reactors?

Is there a reason to use better reactors than the minimum of power that I need? Do weapon capacitors charge faster? Does my ship fly faster? Do my weapons damage more? Are my shields more powerful or recharge faster? Does it have any effect on boosters?


I was surprised when I was recently able to equip my TIE Advanced with a level 1 reactor, level 7 shield, level 6 enginie, and 2 level 7 weapons?


Is there some reason why I should be using a better reactor?

Having extra reactor capacity allows you to run heavier overload programs. If your power plant canhandle everything you want to run with the programs you want to run, then no, you don't need more.


Aside- yes I recently discovered the Joy that is a lvl1 crafted Reactor. Perfect for small 1gun ships that dont have extra system drain.
