How do I fix this? I started out as an imp pilot, but really want to go reb pilot since my other toon is an imp. I already 'resigned' thru the imp navy officer at Theed. I could only go freelance so I could get a ship to travel with again. Any help woulf be great hehe. Thnx!

Find an Imperial recruiter and resign through him. If you were an Imperial pilot after 13.1 you automatically were made a member of the Imperial Army, so you would need to resign both commissions. If that is not the case then I'd need more info on exactly what you have done and what is happening to you in order to give better advice.

I just tried that and the only thing he says is "Hello soldier. Are you ready to resumeactive duty?" The only option to respond is "Yes, sir, I am ready to resume my duties." There is no option to completely retire. I will try any other suggestion.

You should have several options including one that says something like "I want to rethink my standing in the Galactic Civil War".

I just happened across this in the forums:

Says something about redeeding your ships. Anyway, read it and see if this might work.

Dang, wish I had seen ur post before. I have already destroyed the imp ship i was given. The recruiter still gives me no other choice, but to return to duty on the ground as an imp. LOL, I do not even have any imp faction points either hehe. I sure hope SOE can fix this.

The bit about re-deeding ships in the link (clicky) that Gruug gave is because after resigning you lose the ability to manage them, so lose access to the components inside.
The relevant bit is: "4. Then go to see a faction recruiter (if needed) to quit your ground-based faction. [You must be a combatant and not "on leave" to resign from a ground faction]". If the only option you are given is to return to duty, then you are on leave...

When I tried this out on my toon, you do not get any other option then to go to active dutie if you are on leave, and only then comes all the other options including resigning faction. So you have to go combatant to resign, go figures.
