I have a little spot I like to farm and the action can get kinda hot once in a while. This morning I grouped with a firend from my guild and I kept losing her. There were way too many red blips to be looking for the little green blip, the grouped member list that shows her shield and armor lvl doesnt seem to be adjustable like they are on the ground, so I could never drag it open far enough for it to show me the arrow of which direction she was. Everyso often I would just notice she was no longer in the same sector.

I felt really bad, like I just kind of ditched her, but I am used to flying alone, plus I was having problems tracking her. I am wondering if some of you out there could give input on what makes a good wingman, what to look for, how to help each other, rules never to break while grouped, etc...

Also how do I drag that damn window open more so I can see what direction she is in??? My mouse will give the cross when I hover over it to move it, but never the parallel dashes so I can resize it.

Well, when I fly the wing of a guildmate I use the ctrl+2 combo. this targets the 2nd member of the group (ctrl+1 is ownself). This helps me regroup if we get split. I can also turn in behind and clear their tail this way.

Don't worry, they couldn't hit an elephant from this dist.......End Transmission...

Here's a few things I do:

Ctrl2 is the best way to get them in sight quick, but if you are the wingman, then they shouldn't be out of sight in the first place.

As a wingman, your goal is to stay with lead and keep them clean. The lead draws the aggression of the enemy, and the wingman covers him and takes advantage of the fact that their lead is being hit.

The 2 fighter element stays together until someone goes after one of you, then the second one breaks and pulls in behind the person on your tail. Whoever was being attacked stays on whatever target he was after. First person to make their kill looks to his partner to see if they need a hand finishing them off. Then you regroup and pick the next target. The picking can be done without typing, simply by letting the Lead go after someone, then the wingman targets them too, or clears off the Lead's tail in a repeat of the last break.

That's how to handle things when the enemy is strong enough to serious quick damage to one of you. If you can take some hits, you have some leeway, but you need to make it habitual to always get back to your wingmate after each kill. The other thing to do is simply be like extra guns for the Leader. Shoot what they shoot, and don't worry over who gets the loot, you both split it later on the ground. This increases Kill Speed without sacrificing experience.
