Hey all,
I have looked everywhere, and the search here is worthless. I am looking for the person who gives the tier 2 missions for the Smuggler's Alliance pilots. I know that the NPC in the Lucky Despot is the trainer, but the only missions I can get are duty missions. Also, I understand that pilot is meant to be a mindless grind, but it is correct, as I have been reading, that my 400xp per kill on my normal duty missions is normal? That is horrible if so.
Anyway, I am really only curious about the mission giver for the tier 2 quests, as the duty missions are all that are available to me from the Lucky Despot NPC.
Thanks

Thanks, I have seen that, but assumed there was another mission giver NPC, since there are listed tier 2 mission rewards in the FAQ, and I figured you do not get those from duty missions. Thanks.
Though, that does stink. XP grind the entire tier.

Yes, unfortunately, it is an XP grind. Once you train a skill box, you get a mission, then back to the XP grind. When you reach Tier 3, you will do a mission (or two? I don't remember exactly) and promptly receive skill training, even if you don't have XP for a box. Tier 4 is an all out grind again, and Tier 5 is two pretty difficult missions you MAY need assistance on.

she gives you missions AFTER you gain each box. xp grind, then missions.
next tier is the one you'll like. straight missions, no xp required (but might aswell start saving up for tier 4)

Once you get the first box of tier2, take Equipment. With the ability to load level5 gear onboard a Dune lizard, you can pretty easily face off against tier3 ships that spawn naturally. You're not limited to sticking with the Duty missions, and in tier2 you should take a little time to explore space and find some new places. Tier2 is one of the few times I don't recommend using a Duty to advance, since with a little practice, you are a lot better than the Duty they give you. Tier3 are worth 1200-1600xp.

Thank you all for the replies. That is what I was wondering.
psikobunny,
I will do just that, and yes, the duty missions are rather boring & easy. Thanks guys for the reply, it has helped with the overall xp requirement that was overwhelming before. Thanks.

Also, make sure you take the mission from the space station BEFORE you finish tier2.
If you haven't done the ground theme park, that's the easiest way into the throne room.
