I was just wanting to post this to see what every one thinks. I have been playing the game since the start and I remeber the days of waiting for the shuttels and starship transports. I was just thinking that to me it seems in SOE's best intrest to make it so that the Shuttels and Spaceports take a long time, agine to make more money. What I mean is I remeber when JTLS wasent out and the thought of haveing your own ship and taixing people was a cool way to make money. But what gets me is SOE puts out JTLS then makes it so that the only reason not to take the shuttels is the price you pay. If they want to make the game more real and make more money then they will make the spaceports & shuttels take longer so that the peopel that dont have JTLS will have reason to buy it and if they dont then we can start taixing them. they could also raise the prices of the spaceports not the shuttels. just a thought I think it sucks though that we wait to get ships just to get some where faster then they fix the spaceports and such so there just as fast.

Actually I prefer buying an expansion for the added playability, not to avoid artificial time sinks.
What you're suggesting would only serve to breed resentment in the playerbase, not something that's advisable for a long term business relationship.

It would be cool, but I say that as someone with a lot of free time on her hands. People who can only play for an hour a day might not be as keen to the idea as I am. Forced interactions with other players is almost always a bad thing, from a game design perspective. Your best bet is to organize a roleplaying event where you have to arrange passage on someone else's ship. Keeps the feel, but doesn't ruin anyone else's good time.
