Thread: Problem Beginning Pilot Training

I'm either getting a weird bug or I'm making an obvious mistake.

I'm trying to begin pilot training as a rebel. I have found Da'la Sacuna on Tatooine. I go up to him, select "Converse" on the radial menu, and I get a white text bubble that says, "You don't look like any sort of pilot to me. I can't help you." There are no dialogue options offered after that.I've tried doing this repeatedly. I've tried logging out and logging back on.

My allignment is already rebel alliance.

I have never tried to train as a pilot before, so I have not signed up with either Freelance of Imperial previously.

I have cleared all pre-existing quests (including bounties), on the off-chance that they were somehow blocking my getting pilot training quests.

I submitted a Customer Service Ticket, and got back a canned RTFM reply. I submitted a new Ticket a little while ago, and am waiting to hear back on that.

My character is a Trandoshan Bounty Hunter, lvl 38. I played for a few months a few years ago, and re-activated my account about a month ago.

I'm running SWG: The Total Experience on a PC with a Pentium 4 and over 2000 MB RAM. (Don't know why that would make any difference, but thought I'd throw it in there.)

Any idea what's going on?

Are you a member of the Rebel Alliance? That may be why, I don't know.

Did you start this account with TTE, or use it to upgrade your existing account? Your registration date leads me to believe that your problem may be that you didn't update your expansions correctly. Open up your account from the launchpad, and see what it says.

Did you talk to a pilot coordinator before going to the trainer?

No! The guides I saw all said to go first to Da'la Sacuna in the Cantina in Mos Espa(if I'm on Tatooine and want to become a rebel pilot). I don't even know what a "pilot coordinator" is. (I assumea "pilot coordinator" is different from a"pilot trainer," since Da'la Sacuna is that for the rebels -- according to my worldmap anyway.)

So I should not have gone to Da'la Sacuna in the Catina in Mos Espa first? Where should I go first?

Thanks in advance for any help!

(Love your username, by the way! I suppose that makes me an "evil soccerdad." :-) )

I originally played SWG two years ago (prior to the expansions). Since then I have bought a completely new computer, and installed SWG: The Total Experience on it. So the computer I'm using has never had an earlier version loaded on it.

I am, however, playing a character who existed PRIOR to the expansion. (I was pleasantly surprised to find that my character was still there on the server, after two years dormant.) Could that be the problem?

Or do you think re-installing might help? Are there any dangers to re-installing? (I assume not, since the character data is stored on the server.)

Installation doesn't actually matter. What you need to do is open up the launchpad and look for the "Register Expansions" button. You actually have to turn TTE on to be able to fly.

Yes! See, I knew it might just be that I was making some stupid mistake, but I sent in two tickets to Customer Service and they couldn't even suggest this. (The first message told me I had to go to the Rebel Pilot Trainer, which I said in my message I had already done, and the second time I tried they said just register it as a bug.)

Thanks so much! If I don't post again, assume it worked.

Good luck. Enjoy the flying, it's the best part of the game.
