Thread: omg...tried the vette last night

well I read through nokilo's strategy on defeating the vette, even printed out and studied it. I am still having major problems with this, so istead of trying it solo, I am trying to group with more pilots and trying this again. It is not the vette I am having problems with...but the escourting craft...in particular the gunboats.
If anyone is available to help me please let me know. I am on wanderhome, which is a very small pilot population, and I could use any help I can get. Even if it is just encouragement.

How are you approaching the gunboats?
You know they can't hit you with any turretfrom the behind-below angle, from about straight down to about 45 or so degrees back from straight down.

I addedthe front-bottom and front-side turret as well as the rear turret for a bit more clarity

Hey, Jigan, I'll help you out, I'll see if I can catch ya online. Perhaps I can get a few other pilots to help out. I try to help everyone I can out with the vette.

When I am working on the corvette, as long as I stay well enough underneath it, the gunboats leave me alone if I don't fire on them, even when I am within their fire arc. This only works when I am under them. Even if I leave them alone, if I am above them, they consider me fair game. So its usually smooth sailing after the corvette gun 5 is taken out. I don't touch the gunboats until after the corvette is taken care of.

aHH, you lucky duck, i have been stuck on this mission for almost a month now, cant find noone to help, unless i can pay millions of course. Im on Valcyn, I run around for hours asking for help with this mission, and noone even responds, when i ask those directly who like to show there Master Pilot tags, i get your an imp, cant help you (even though im destroying an imp vette) it gets frustrating, really. I tried soloing it a hundred times, i just cant do it, perhaps its the hours im home, i dont know.

That sucks to hear you are having so much trouble with finding pilots... There is a stickie at the top wioth pilot helpers by server. Heh, you cold always pay the $30 and come to Sunrunner... I'll help ya lol.
