Alright as of now im a Master Imperial Pilot. In my datapad all I have is a Y-8 and a Jedi Starfighter.

Now I know I need to go to my trainer to drop, I know not to have an insparation buff while doing so and I know I won't be able to fly the Y-8 or Jedi Starfighter until im (4333?) pilot. My question is when I drop Imperial pilot and pick up neutral pilot does anything happen to my ships?

I only ask because a guide I read said to remove all the parts and redeed the ships and it lead me to wonder if something happens to them. I didn't want to have to empty out all the items in my Y-8 for nothing. Thanks again.

Edit: Also another question. I know if I were to drop imperial on ground it would drop my imperial pilot skills and the same with rebel. My question is if I go Corsec in the Freelance pilot profession does it give me the freedom to join and leave any faction I want without having to worry about losing my pilot skills?

That part of the guide is only there because you will not be able to access ships you are not certified for while you work on your new skills. When the guide was written, the only ships that overlapped were the Firespray and Sorosub. Thus, if you left a ship in your datapad, it was taking up 1/3 of your ship slots, and you could not do anything with it unless you went back to your old factiona and worked your way up to it again.
