Thread: Report 5000 Black Sun Kills NO Helmet

Well I thought I would check back in and see how folks are doing in this unbearable quest for the ace helm.


I am 5000 kills in now, about 700 looted parts, no sign of the Black Sun Ace helmet.


Sigh.


I am still doing Rebel Duty Missions from Lok.


How are you all doing?

i feel your pain, i quit keeping track at something like 3800 and no helmet, roughly 500 parts(which was nice for the bank account as they were mostly lvl 7-9). i pull the RSF mission in endor space

I also feel your pain and then some. I stopped counting way back I forgot when, AND I have two friends who both looted one on their FIRST duty mission, and have to live through hearing about it every time someone asks them about their cool helmet.

Then I guess this would be a bad time to say I got my helmet yesterday afternoon while working the kinks out of my ship before our PvP event on Flurry last night.


Not sure how many missions I ran (also did RSF duty missions in Endor) over the last week since I started my grind towards the 9 Ace Club. I know I was running at least 8 a day, and I got it off the second to last Tier 5 at the end of the duty. This did not count the duty missions I did during the pilot grind, so I know I killed at least 5270 (~62 duty mission x 85 fighters per spawn) to get it.


Would love to get another one but I doubt lightening will strike twice. No farming for a while since it is back to the grind and preparing to start CorSec

i am lost... i am o nly 2-2-2-2 reb pilot so i dont quite unerstand. You have to kill 5000 NPC's to get the master helmet? i thought they give it to you once u get..... master?

took 55000 before i got mine .. i spent so many hrs out there lol

Black Sun helmet is a rare loot drop. Much coveted among pilots and non pilots alike apparently. I know they sell for 20+million on my server. It has nothing to do with being a Master Pilot


I won't say how many I have looted and where. I don't feel like getting mugged,

Black sun helmet is pointless. All it tells me is that you spent so much of your time getting something that does nothing when it comes to enhanced stats or anything. Now if the thing gave me like +100 missile firing while I wear it or something then I would be impressed.

I got mine yesterday. I never counted them, but I tried to figure it out once. I was around 3000 a couple months ago, so it took me maybe 3500-4000 kills to get one. I just happened to be cruising by the spawn in endor space and noticed a couple of guys who must have been camping the spawn had moved a couple k away to kill something else. There was just one black sun that had respawned, so I killed it and then the other two black sun popped in. I killed one and started in on the 2nd one when the other two guys rushed back and tried to steal that last kill. They couldnt get loot rights against my one gun tf. lol. So I noticed the last one dropped an engine so I checked inventory to see what the stats are. Sitting next to that engine is a black sun helmet. I kinda wanted to send a tell to those guys who left their camping spot to kill something else and then tried to steal my kill, but I'm just not that mean.

I decided I really want one once they allowed Jedi to wear them without hampering jedi skills. The look is very nice and is a rarity still.
