I have done a quick search around here and have not noticed any other postings, so I will ask away.

I used to be neutral on the ground and Rebel in space.

Since the new changes, I notice I am no longer Neutral - I have been made Rebel "on leave".

I dont get the option to remove myself from theusual planetRebel Recruiter and I am sure I need to do this via the Pilot Recruiter.

Is this change from Neutral to automatic Faction based on Pilot preference supposed to happen? I have not read anything about this in the stickied FAQ or any other posts.

Can someone in the know please advise?

WARNING! DO NOT DROP REBEL!

I just finished rebel ace (my second) and wanted to start Imp. On a hunch I emptied my ship of componants before talking to the rebel recruiter. I had to go combatant first, then I recieved the option of leaving the faction, but when I did I AUTOMATICALLY lost all of my pilot skills, experience and faction points. If you are not faction alligned, you cannot be a pilot of that faction. This is a change, and I don't like it, but I am going smugglers alliance after the Imp ace, so I don't care that much.

Just be careful what you choose, and when you choose it.

Thanks for the heads up. This is exactly what I was thinking of doing. I aim to drop Rebel pilot once I master it - and begin grinding IMP faction points to go Imperial pilot. I understand that I get bonus pilot XP anyhow, so I dont mind losing any pilot skills.

Yep

for each pilot squad you master you get a bonus to the next one you do

one mastery gives you 2x exp for the next one

2 masteries gives 3x (but only if they are both different factions, I think, ie 1 rebel and 1 neutral)

3 masters gives 4x (again only if each is from a different faction, ie 1 neut, 1 reb 1 imp)

After this, you get 4x on any other ones, making tier 4 grinding FAST...I have only done 1 rebel and jsut aced my first neutral and even having 2x exp coupled with my good equipment, I BURNED through tier 4
