You always have to be overt(PvP enabled) to enter DS.

To be able to switch sides if your Smugglers Alligance. Deed ship and re generate it...i'll remove the "sticking" faction declare.

Hmmm, yes smuggler's alliance. The only way I can get in, is to not be overt. Which is okay, only you don't get faction points. Even though I am a rebel (land).

'sticking faction declare' isn't clearing when I redeed my Vaskai on my SA alt. any suggestions? Also have a Dune that's been to DS... should I redeed them both? An' why aren't Imp/Reb stations allowing me to declare? They just say 'join up'.

thx....

That's correct. Never had an official post wether it's a bug or a feature. Generally assumed to be the price of neutrality.

That doesn't make much sense since we're forced to choose a side upon entering. You CAN'T go in neutral, heh.

Sure a freelancer can go overt in space, but they can't get to Deep Space while overt.

The physical reason is clear:

While a freelancer is overt, their ship is considered that faction.

A Freelancer has "Pilot Prestige" points.

Rebels have "Rebel Prestige" points.

Imps have "Imperial Prestige" points.

The Neutral, Rebel, and Imp stations can only be used by Freelance, Rebel, and Imp pilots(neutral is considered rebel or imp if they're declared), and those stations take pilot prestige, rebel prestige, and imperial prestige, respectively.

A Freelance pilot declared as an Imp cannot use the Dathomir station to get to Deep Space; they have to use the Imperial station over Endor.

BUT, that station requires 30k Imperial Prestige points...something impossible for a Freelance Pilot to have....at least as far as I know. I suppose overt freelancers still get regular prestige points for making kills made outside Deep Space(if someone wants to test that, heh).

That's the "How" of it, but the "Purpose" is unclear(and has never been clarified).

You can however as a privateer enter kessel overt (via rebel/imperial station) and faction farm as entry into kessel requires no prestige points.

Yes, anywhere outside deep space, a freelance pilot can earn FP. But, just the fact that your ship and parts take a beating outside of deep space. And no PVP. And the other thing is, maybe due to the Rebel/Imperial points you can't earn FP in deep space as a freelance, but at least let the freelance pilot in if he is overt.

does entering DS make you Overt automaticly if your one of the GCW factions? because ive gone into DS for the free repair and never seen other players but since i dont have 3 RE'd lvl 10 guns and a 80PYR engine i dont venture out too far. yet.....

Going to DS makes you overt for PvP while you're in Deep Space, but not overt like declaring at a factional space station. Going overt at a factional space station does two things that "overt" in DS doesn't:

1.) Allows you to get faction points.

2.) Creates a permanent PvP status that lasts until you land or until you're destroyed.

Just jumping into DS doesn't allow for FP, and you will not remain overt when you exit the system (except if you were declared at a factional station before entering Deep Space).

Clear or confusing?
