Ok, thx, should be fun gettin past all the IMP outside the palace....

Anyone who has done the mission can use the ship (at 4xxx), you just have to be combatant to get the ship.
You could drop RSF and level up a different Neutral squad or Rebel squad enough to get the ship then drop and redo RSF, or master any of the same and go back to RSF later.

If you want to maximize your investment of time, you would want to master a Rebel squad for the xp bonus before going back to RSF, or any other Neutral squad (or Imp squad).

Or that...

you can do the quest as RSF but you'll need a rebel / non RSF nuteral to help you as the last misson invloves killing imp ships and RSF cant damge imp ships

If the last mission involves killing Imp ships ... try just doing it overt.
