Heya. When I first saw those aggressors (imperial fighter craft that have rear guns), I had a lot of trouble with 'em. However, I can pretty much take them down easy now, even tier 5.

Here's ma tip on how to do so...if you have trouble with them, at least. You'll need some decent forward shields.

Again, this is for people having difficulty with them. If you can tear em apart chasing them around, then power to ya.

Once it passes you, turn your ship away from it (dodge it's rear gun as you "run away" with your yaw/pitch) until it no longer fires. Slam on the brakes and turn around. The ship will start turning back once you're far enough. By the time you turn around, it's either already turned or turning around. Speed up just enough where you can turn fast. It'll come straight for you. Just blast away at the easy target as he comes dead-on (as if you were both playing chicken). Once he passes, run away again and dodge his rear gun. Once it stops firing at you, turn around and wait once again.

Pretty much, you're forcing the AI to think it's at a safe distance to turn around to make another gun-run. However, you're there waiting and your blasts should do far more damage to it than it could possibly to do you with just a couple ofthe tie'sshots beforeie passes you.

With my x-wing, I'm able to take a tier 5 aggressor down to 50 shields and 50 armor on one single pass in doing this without much dmg to my shields.

head to head is my favourite way of killing anything and everything, from TIEs to gunboats (less likely to miss).

Have to say though, since RE'ing my cert 8 reward shield, I just chase them down... might help that I have 2 RE'd borstels and a fast (and I mean scarily fast) crafted cert 7 blaster mounted on my rihk

But they also need to reduce the accuracy of any NPC turret. They used to hit 100% of the time, now it's like 95%. The accuracy needs to be reduced further, something a bit more realistic, maybe in the 50% range.

Always target its rear gun ftw...from the back, front, top, bottom or other position. Your method is really just a joust fest. Might work, but I prefer to swoop in front the top or bottm, fall in very closely behind and blast that rear turrent, then I follow him a bit while mocking his lack of flying skills before I blast 'em back to the Emperor!

If you are doing tier 4 missions with other pilots I recommend double teaming each one. The turret can only shoot one of you at a time and while the one being shot at breaks off the other can zoom inbehind and blast the thing to bits. This is where the whole pilot/wingman things comes in handy, but most people don't have that kind of discipline in JTL. Four skilled pilots can trash a whole wave of these things in no time if they work in pairs.

Good tip. I started doing this when I kept getting killed doing my 'Kill 30 in Kessel' mission. One point I would also suggest, ALWAY's target the weapon on an Aggressor first. Once you have that weapon down to around 40% or less you no longer have to do the Joust with it.

Note: Don't get in the habbit of Jousting other ships, if you try this in PVP you will not survive long......) It works great against faster PvE ships though.

I actually have used the Joust method since my first Y-wing. When you get head on with a faster ship drop your speed to around 20% fire with everything you have until you are ~75m from the ship and hit the throttle and snap turn behind them. Even with a Y-Wing you can end up right on there tail and already have done a fair amount of damage to them........
