I am a 1211 Imperial Inquisition pilot and have amassed enough skill points to top out a 2222 (I have over 200k banked). Problem is, my coordinator at the emp retreat is only giving me duty missions, not the missions actually associated with this squadron, so I can't advance. I don't even get the option to train. Do I need to amass even more skill points to advance or do I need to get CSR involved.
One other thing, as a newb pilot, is it worth it to go overt in PvP now, or should I wait until I'm an ace. I have a feeling if I do it now, I'll end up getting blasted out of the sky by the more seasoned pilots with better ships. TIA

I had this problem with the teir 2 rebel trainers.
The csr told me to complete my mission, which i couldnt because i couldnt recieve one.
However, the CSR just couldnt get that through his thick skull.
So i just ended up switching to Freelance and grinded it with no problem.
I hate CSRs that dont really care and have no clue about the actual gameplay.

That inquisition guy is a little tricky. There's a part in the conversation where you need to specifically ask for training. I think you tell him you're ready for a duty mission, then you say "I am ready for training" or something like that.
Speak to him again carefully and see if what I'm saying is true. I'm just going from memory here.

The trainers are not consistant. With the Inquisition It looks like 3 different developers worked on it and didn't collaberate there efforts.
Some of the trainers will outright tell you, you need training. Some will mix the mission reward into the training. another the training is in the duty roster (this is probably yours).

Yeah, sometimes the conversation options are tricky, but sometimes you end up with another mission in your datapad, which stops the Trainers from training you. If so, drop any other missions you have and try again.

You guys were right. I just had to listen to mindless drivel over and over before he offered training. Got it now. Thanks for the help
