I'm a brand new pilot, only at novice pilot now. I've done a couple of imperial missions and received imperial faction with the reward. But I'm not receiving any faction for killing the rebel cadet ships.

Is faction given by killing tier 1 ships? Or do I need to do something else to start receiving faction from kills?

Thanks for any info regarding my dilema.

you have to declare in space to recieve faction in space, while declared, other declared players of the opposing faction can attack you (PvP) and kill you. Id reccomend not declaring until you master, or you will die during missions.

Ahhh. So there is no"on leave" / "combantant" / "special forces" modes in space?

I was hoping to become just the "combantant" part of the GCW in space.

You're already a combatant. There's no "on leave" status in space. You just don't get FP as a combatant in space--you have to be "special forces."
