As a newb pilot, is it worth it to go PvP now, or should I wait until I'm an ace. I have a feeling if I do it now, I'll end up getting blasted out of the sky by the more seasoned pilots with better ships. TIA

It really depends on your faction, though the default answer is yes.
Rebels can PvP quite effectively at Tier 4, since that's when you get your A-Wing and level 8 certification. While doable, it's still recommended to wait until master, simply for the ability to go PvP in Deep Space, which is where the majority of it will occur.

I would say no. If you want to go ahead. you can get a heavy starter ship and if you are 2323 you can load really good equipment and use the nessesary droid commands.

It really depends on what you mean by PvP. Is it 1v1 PvP or mass PvP? In mass PvP, the fun as a lowbie is seeing how long before you get one shotted. But, it is still fun. You learn real quick about flying erraticly. My first PvP was as 1211.

I don't know if this will help. I am personally waiting till I get ace. Not because I feel it will make much a dif in flying skill but when I get my A$$ shot off...I still have my funny helmet and cool jacket to feel like I havea sense of acomplishment...
