I've seen a list somewhere for various ships, but can't find it now. Does anyone have it? or how do you find the optimal throttle setting yourself?
Thanks.

Some people swear by the sweet spots, some just fly by feel. I'm one of the latter, I'm constantly feathering my throttle.
To find your sweet spot, just spin your ship around a stationary object and notice where it seems to turn the fastest. In general fast fighters (Interceptors, AWings, etc) turn best at high throttle. Heavy ships (XWing, Oppressor, Krayt) like lower throttles like 40%. Also, many ships have 2 sweet spots. Just expirament, and realize speed control is very important in combat.

And then you have the joy of trying to track a heavy in a lighter ship ... I find myself "yo-yo"ing a fair bit, so I can get back on target and not fly out in front ... that, or reverse my turn.

It seems that all of the heavy starters, bel-22, and the JSF all have it at full speed. The X-wing has one at about 65-70% and another one at a much lower throttle. Bombers, like the Ywing, seem to fly best at 50%. Then again, this can be affected by engine speed and overloads.
I may be off since I haven't flown for awhile.

I'd put the 600/600/300 .95 fighters more towards 90-95% for their throttle sweet spot. Full speed makes them suffer a tiny bit.

Yea I tend to use what I said but I have a nice throttle lever on my stick so almost always have one hand on the stick one on throttle.

Smaller and faster ships tend to maneuver better at 70-80% throttle while the bigger bad boys around 40-60%, I often sit around that when fighting on missions and only go full speed if I lose distance.

I find that my Kimo has two throttle sweet spots depending on the opponent.
For not so manuverable NPCs 70-75% throttle allows me to stay inside thier turns, just using my looted engine (no RE yet)
For the fast little buggers I go to about 50% so they have to keep turning in on me to fire. This lets me get several good shotsin while they try to turn at full throttle, with mytwo Ion cannons and a disruptor they don't usually make it through the second pass.

Thanks everyone for the tips. I've been mostly flying by 'feel' as well and it seems to have worked thus far. Thanks again.
