I have a droid and the programming computer. i loaded the commands i wanted and then programmed the droid. have the interface and droid loaded into ship.
however when i am in space and i bring up my ctrl a menu to get astromech commands from the tab to put on shortcut F keys, none are there? what did i do wrong, or what is another way to get droid to execute programs?
thanks for any help.

Hmm, while in space i would double check to see if the flgiht computer or droid is loaded, along with the droid interface. Sometimes on mine if i make any changes to my ship the Flight computer or droid will unload from the ship. Also after you program the droid make sure you hit the "Commit" button at the bottom. If you dont hit that and just close the programming interface it will not save the data to your flight computer/droid.

The programming interface is a little wonky, sometimes it takes a bit for newly programmed commands to "stick". First, check that the droid computer actually has the programs loaded (bring up your datapad, and examine the computer). Second, check that both the interface and the droid are loaded into your ship. If you load the droid before the interface, you can sometimes hit a bug where both show up as loaded, but the commands aren't available. Try unloading both, loading the interface, and then loading the droid (in that order).
If you have an astromech droid, you can only load it into certain ships (I think it's the Z-95, the X-wing, both Y-wing varients, and maybe an A-wing). All other ships require a Flight computer.

why are you bumping? you have good answers, did they not solve the problem? post some more details about your situation and you might get more help.

Try using the / command to operate the programs:
/droidcommand droid_commandname.
i don't remeber them all, but the most used like EO and WO should be something like:
/droidcommand droid_engine_overloadthree
/droidcommand droid_weapon_overloadthree

My toon is Frelance 4334, at the time ofthis post. My problem is that, after programming some droid chips, I cannot load them into the drois. They say ready chip, instead of burnt chip, and are still in my inventory. Can i not program my own chips? I am not a new player, and have been plating since pub 7, and JTL since launch, I just do some things slower than others.

Try the radial on your flight comp or droid. You program them from there now, instead of loading from the chip. Also, load one chip at a time. If the chip dosen't fit, you loose it. (no err msg)

It sounds like you read an old version of a guide about Droid Programming. The system changed a while back and the new steps are not the same as the old ones. I believe the FAQ has some more recent info about it.
