Thread: DI's worth keeping?

I've been doing some spring cleaning on my stockpile of components and was wondering if there are any particular levels of DI's I should hang on to. I know there are some rare low mass low speed units out there (pre-nerf?). I think I'm currently using a crafted piece. Are all the looted DI's pretty much trash now?

also...Kayl if you see this is the list you posted in your loot thread still up to date with current loot? And no shields until lvl 7?

L1 Reactors
-----
L2 Reactors
L2 Engines (optional, these can really help newbies and multi-squad grinders)
L2 Caps
-----
L3 Reactors
-----
L4 Boosters (get one of the previously mentioned 1980.x ones before making an RE)
L4 Reactors
L4 Engines (same reason as L2s)
L4 Caps
L4 Armor (SFS Light Mil. Durasteel and any pieces over 600hp)
-----
L5 Weapons (especially if you ever plan on trying other factional squadrons - if not, feel free to blow these off)
-----
L6 Engines
L6 Weapons
L6 Caps
L6 Armor (CEC Triplate and sub-6k mass)
-----
L7 Weapons
L7 Shields (optional, these are only useful to mate with the Starmap reward)
L7 Reactors (look for high regens and 14-16k masses)
-----
L8 Reactors (Kuat RCT-Z and low 20ks for mass)
L8 Engines
L8 Shields
L8 Weapons (don't RE any L8s without a Borstel or equivalent reward, you'll be wasting loot)
L8 Armor (Starmap reward + sub-15k mass)
* L8 Boosters (there's a reward booster here as well, and it's perfect for POBs, but it's a b*tch to find good parts for)
-----
L10 Shields
L10 Caps
L10 Engines
L10 Weapons

I keep mostly Lvl 4s, 6 and 8s.

Use the 6s in ships with mass from 80k to 200+. Lvl 4s in the lighter ships and 8s in POBs. I have some lvl 10s but nothing REed.

I don't have any "Pre-Nerf" DIs or I would use them in the lighter fighters.

BTW if anyone on Shadowfire wants to point me in the direction of a Pre-Nerf I would love to get my hands on one.

REd level 6s have a speed and mass right between Mark III and IV DIs, level 8s have a speed and mass between Mark IV and V. Level 10s often beat Mark V BEFORE RE, these are the DI of choice for a POB.

FLMOPE/Cyd: What speed and mass are level 4s?

Keep allthe level 10 droid interfaces (with an RE level of 10, not the crappy ones)!!!

I currently have a 9.6 speed level 10DI in my YT1300. It hasn't been RE'd yet since I have only two other level 10 DIs in my inventory of 1000+ parts. These things are not commonly available on the Galatic Vendor Search. I did find about 8 of them last night, at a price of... get this... 1 million each. I Seriously hope this is not the going priced for un RE'd level 10 DIs or I am going to have to loot them myself if I want to RE my 9.6 speed part. I will not pay that much for a DI, not even if it comes with R2D2 himself attached to it...

Actually Level 10 DI's are the highest amount of loot I collect in deepspace, or from other Tier 5's. That is a good list above to go by. Although I will admit I sometimes gather Tier 5 engines just for the Type II look.

The "pre-nerfs" are typically lvl 1 DI's with around 500 mass and 15.x speed ... otherwise... lvl 10's for your heavies to get super fast.

As a rule, if it says Novaldex: sell it, it's a lower-level DI than the cert level.

I only keep the level 10's, I have a 9.6 as well waiting for RE. Otherwise there's a Shipwright on my server that cooks up Mark II DI's with about 20 speed for 1k mass. That's perfect for what I'm willing to load on my fighters.

Yeah thats kind of what I was thinking. Holding out for a pre-nerf would probably be the best bet. I usually stick to lighter fighters so going crafted seems the best route.

There is a reward DIthat islvl 4. Before Speed after RE is 26.8 and mass is 2076.8

Not great but when you don't have Pre-nerf you have to make compromises,
