Wonder how hard it would be to get this fixed? Might make DS a bit more PvP active if both sides had a reason to be there.
Sigh.

I realize its broken, but does anyone know where the shields are/were? Its still possible to hit parts even if you dont have them targeted, maybe the shields are still there just not targetable?

From what I understand this is true. I left pre-CU for a work termafter half killing a station, and vowing I would actually kill one on my return. On my return I made many useless attempts at it, only to read here that it was now impossible. I believe someone claimed that launching a space bomb at it would take the shields down a bit, but I have to wonder even if you had 100+ people launching space bombs at the station if it would be targetable afterwards.
My "X-files" explanantion for the breaking is that now there are no shields on any of the other stations in space. My guess is someone figured out a way to kill a normal PvE station after it's shields were down, and the "fix" ended up affecting the station in deepspace. Not only that, but from the history of other vastly ignored problems I have seen in other professions if this were brought up to a Dev they would feign surprise, ask for all the details, and then on getting to the office file those papers in the garbage.

Close. They actually mucked up the station, the ISD, and corvettes right after the CU. Something along the lines of moving the components inside them, or some such. That's also when the ISD began lagging out the entire zone. For whatever reason only Sony Knows Why, they fixed the corvette and ISD component locations, and didn't fix the lag problem with the ISD's guns or Freedom Station's components.

Yes, space has always been a high priority with sony. Take them err months (i lost count how many) to fix game breaking exploits. *rolls eyes* So, yeah, the ISD lag, and Freedom station, im sure they'll get right on that one!

I meant rather that since they apparently knew what to fix, why only fix two out of the three?
Better question, why'd they tinker with it in the first place?

Sad thing is, they probably didnt do it intentionally. They probably tinkered with something else, but space caught some nasty side effects. For example, didnt they do some UI adjustments a little while ago? Now the component quickview is screwed and you can't see what percentage your cargo hold is full now.
