Thread: Contact for quests from patch 14

Ok I read the release notes for patch 14 and they mention something about quests involving a mysterious pilot and such. They direct freelance pilots to go to the cantina in Theed.

I have scoured the Theed cantina and there is one junk dealer, and someone else who says they can't talk to me because an imperial security agent might be listening.

Am I missing something here? Where the heck is the contact for these quests?

Today begins the first part of a new epic quest series called "Secrets of the Syren"! Who is the pilot that everyone is searching for? What was the dangerous cargo he was carrying that both Imperials and Rebels want so desperately? Rebels should report immediately to the Tyrena Cantina, Imperials to the Bestine Cantina and Neutrals to the Theed Cantina!

Nothing there about directing Pilots anywhere...

Ok so they are ground missions then?

Well I am nuetral on the ground as well, and there is still no NPC there that will talk to me except for the junk dealer and bartender.

There's a woman named Tyla Jinn (or something like that) who gives the quest in the Theed Cantina. I have done the quest as far as I could, and it seemed to dead-end rather abruptly.

Yeah, it's a ground mission atm and it abruptly ends with no reward, leaving a jar of unidentified spice and a few datapads in your pack that have no apparent function.

I suppose the remainder of this quest will magically appear some day? But right now it isn't worth doing as there is basically nothing to it.

The other really annoying part is that you don't actually have to DO anything or kill anything. I was on my bike at full speed when I ran across the crash site and before I could even stop let alone get off that part automatically completed...boring. Then when I went looking for the final guy I ran in a building at the wp and *boom* "quest complete" before I even had a chance to look around...boring. And that was it, all over.

I really hate quests that complete automatically when you get anywhere near the target.

This is just the first phase, it starts off easy and it will get much tougher. Trust me. I expect to see the next phase in pub 15, there will probably be 3 to 4 phases.

glad I read this post...I was actually gonna try it, seems stupid until at least 1 or 2 more phases are implemented. Why waste my time with a easy, no reward quest

I am glad I read this, I thought the quest was bugged or that I had missed something. I did the Imperial story line and ended up with a Jar of Spice and 2 datapads. I was afraid that there was something that I missed.

Why waste your time? So you don't waste it later when the next phase of the story arc begins. Better to get it finished now than to do both later.
