This isnt really a huge problem, but it IS something to consider....

Im affiliated with the imperial army, but i decided i liked the neutral pilot tree. when i go to enter deep space, i dont get a choice- i have to represent the imperials. However, unlike actual imperial pilots, i pull no faction points for my kills.

with the time i spend in deep space, i should be a general- id like to see something implemented that will allow me to gather faction points.

heck, im even willing to only take half points, since im supposed to be a neutral pilot.

What Privateer line are you? RSF, CorSec or Smugglers Alliance?

Rsf= Imperial in Deep Space
CorSec = Rebel in Deep Space
Smuggler's Alliance = Get Ganked by both in Deep Space

I have a rebel buddy who accidentally went through the RSF line of Privateer.
He'd be handy to smuggle rebels through an imperial blockade. :-)

You can gather FP as a neutral pilot, but just going into Deep Space will not automatically grant you the FP on kills. You must go to your respective factional space station and declare overt before going into Deep Space. At that point you must also use the factional Deep Space access point. You will then gain FP for your kills.

Beware though, there is a bug at the moment that can cause you to to remain factionaly aligned even after landing etc. In other words, I am a Rebel Ground/Smuggler's Alliance Ace pilot and after going into Deep Space after declaring... so now my ship and I are factionaly Rebel but flying a Krayt when I launch. The work around for this is to redeed the ship you used.

No offense but this thread would have probably been better suited in the Pilots forum or JtL forum rather than Tech Support as it isn't really a technical issue. I hope this clarified it for you a little bit better though

As a Smuggler's alliance pilot, you can not declare at an Imperial station to go to deep space. The station looks for imperial Pilot prestiege, of which you have none. So there's currently no way for you to gain FP in deep space.

I have the exact same problem.

I have the same problem. I am a ground imperial and a neutral pilot with the smuggler's alliance. You can get FP by going to faction space stations and declaring to go overt. You are then in a PvP mode where any other overt opposing faction ship can attack you. Be aware that currently PvP is a whoever shoots first wins affair as all ships pretty much go down with a few shots. Additional Issues and bugs include, that you can't get to deep space when overt and normall a neutral pilot, the imperial deep space station will tell you that you don't have sufficient prestige points even if you have more than 30k. Also, I have been stuck as an over imperial but only when I go to kessel not in other space zones. Your experience may vary. I've talked to a CSR about my problems but so far no resolution.

That is interesting, I just assumed that I could not declare at an imperial station as a Smuggler's Alliance pilot because I was a rebel on ground. You are Imperial on ground but Smuggler's Alliance in space? I do not have rebel prestige anymore due to dropping Alliance Ace, but I now have Pilot Prestige. Rebel Stations accept that if I am overt for me. Just out of curiosity, what are you on ground?

Try redeeding the ship you used when you were overt. It is a pain, but it has fixed it in the past. My Krayt is rebel aligned now as I don't care to redeed it, but my KSE and YT are still SA/Neutral as I have never declared in them.

*Edit* Declared and entered Deep Space while overt was what I meant above. That is what I remeber causing me to have a rebel aligned Krayt.

its an interesting idea, but for some reason, it wont let me declare at the space stations. oh, and i went RSF, so i should be aligned with imperials.

So it seems i'm not the only one with this problem. My situation:

I am Rebel Combatant on ground and Smuggler's Alliance Ace in space. I can gain faction in Kessel by declaring in the Corellia system and going to Dantoine and entering Kessel throught the Reb space station. However, if i declare in Corellia and go to the Dantoine station and try to enter deep space, it tells me I do not have enough prestige points. I currently have over 3 million pilot prestige points. Are there rebel prestige points that I do not know about? Now, if I fly through the Dathomir space station into deep space, I can declare rebel but I do not collection faction points.

Is there a work around for this?

Please let me know.

Thanks...

Heh, nice necro bump.

No theres no work around, and right now it is known with sony, but if its by design or by oversight is another matter. Its entirely possible it might remain this way because it falls in line with the latest sony mentalty of making you pick a side. And honestly, privateer is still a netural profession. Dots are either white or yellow to your normally, never red unless its a mission mob or a random pirate spawn.

The reason why you can't enter DS is because it requires Rebel presige or imperial prestige.. NOT pilot prestigue. Its looking for factional points, not neutral ones.

For now, if you want to access the best faction farm in the game, your going to have to join the rebel navy. Otherwise, head to kessel.

It's a known bug/feature. You would have to declare at your factional station first. Once declared, your neutral station will no longer talk to you. You also lack the Imperial or Alliance prestige points needed to go via the factional space station.

Once you get there, your factional alignment will be remembered when you go to Kessel too instead of your neutral status. The fix for this is stripping and redeeding your ship.

You can, however, declare overt and use a factional station to go to Kessel and earn FPs, or just earn FPs in the normal space zones.
