Thread: Shield hit visual effect missing?

Is anyone having a problem where the shield visual effect is not showing up when you fire at your target? I fired on a fighter, frieghter, and even the station and I can't see that blue shield effect anymore. I can hear the sound that I'm hitting the shield but the visual effect is gone. I have an nVidia FX5900 video card with the latest drivers installed.

I still get it. It looks brighter than before too, and I like the effect I get. ATi 9800 pro here

The visual effect of shooting a space station is gone, but the regular one is still there. 9800 pro here too.

All the shield splash effects appear unchanged, for me. Aside from the shield splashes on fighters being brighter (which imo looks better).

Anyone with an nVidia card having this problem? If it's just me then I'm going to start messing around with my settings.

I had a friend mention this to me when we were PVPing yesterday. I'll ask him what his video card is, see if we can track this down.

This affecting anyone else?

I don't see it anymore at all, i'm also using an ATI 9800

Yes, I'm missing this effect as well, and I have a nVidia Ultra 6800.

Well the latest hot fix today fixed my problem. I can see the shield splash again. And you're right JediNg, the shield splash is brighter than before.

Mine missing umm yesterday I think it was, back today seemed to be an issue with nVidia
