That's the funny thing, I really tend to luck into low-mass components. My ship is completely decked out, and only two or three things are Engineered. I've not tinkered with my ship in the last few months and the mod itch just hit me all of the sudden. I'm likely gonna trick it out even further than it has been.
Too bad Lowca's down right now. :?

Well, the server's back up, I loaded the Sienar booster in place of the old one, and now I have fifteen kilos of unused mass.

Okay, I've come to a dilema on which booster I should use in my X-Wing, its my primary fighter. I've two good boosters on hand, I'll list the stats and see what you guys say before I make my final decision.
Incom Supercharged "Vynock" Booster
Reactor Drain: 522.6
Mass: 9413.5
Booster Energy: 1887.6
Recharge: 50.9
Consumption: 167.3
Accelleration: 38.7
Top Speed: 29.2
-Total booster burn time: 11.28 seconds
Republic Sienar Systems Ion Booster
Reactor Drain: 450
Mass: 3055.4
Booster: 2039.4
Recharge: 51.0
Consumption: 144.6
Accelleration: 37.4
Top Speed: 26.4
-Total booster burn time: 14.10 seconds
Now, each booster has its strengths and weaknesses. The Reactor drain and Mass matter nothing at this point, as I have about ten kilos of mass to spare and around 900 units of energy to spare, and that's with my old booster in the fighter(By the way, it hits a top speed over 32, but only has a burn time of slightly more than seven seconds.)
So, what do you guys think? Personally, I'm leaning more towards the longer burn time, but I dunno if I can cover more ground with or without those three more seconds.
Discuss. Thank you.

You seriously need to even ask this question? the difference between the two is 3pts of speed and 3x the mass.... no brainer.

I'd go for the second one. Even though you don't need mass or energy... now, it's still better.
The only thing the first one really wins by is 2 points of top speed. Acceleration is too close to judge. The second wins everything else handily.
Since I don't feel like doing calculus and adjusting for acceleration and stuff here's the basics...
max speed X time
1) 29.2 speed * 11.28 time = 329.376 distance
2) 26.4 speed * 14.1 time = 372.24 distance

I concur use the second one as the there is almost no difference in acceleration. The first one will get you to top speed a couple of a hundreths of a second faster. But the burn time for the second one will allow you to cover more distance.

Doing pilot over 7 times and having a shipwright. I concur with the others. Use the Second booster. Also you best find a way to use up that mass! Invest in a missile launcher or something. Free mass is something you should never have!

Oh, I've been slowly collecting level 6, 7, and 8 cannons for engineering, as well as engines to improve my pre-nerf loot reward.
