Thread: Tier 3 Privateer (RSF) Help

Hello,
I'm currently on the second mission (3,2,2,2) of RSF tier 3 and cannot for the life of me getpast it. It is the mission where you must escort the Cadano (sp) Sun. I can escort itfine but when Ihave to fly to Coreillia for the second part of the mission I cannoteven get close to the enemy ships without being totally destroyed.
The RSF senda few back up ships but they just sit there and don't do anything, meanwhile like 4other tier 3 ships and one YT just gang up on me.....any help would be very much appreciated..

This mission is a bit harder than the others because as I recall the YT has a top/bottom mounted turret meaning it has a 360' arc. You should be able to attack it from the top or bottom(depending on which side the turret is on) with little problems, however it will quickly manuever around to shoot at you again. My best suggestion for you would be to see if you can find a master pilot to help you with this mission(or any pilot close to your level). The main difficulty with the YT's is that their turrets are hard to hide from and they do significant damage to your shields. Always target the turrets first, and always go for the gunship(YT) first. The best suggestion to this would be to make fast booster passes on the ship, but more than likely you'll probably need help on this one. If you can coax one or two of the escort ships out without getting the YT you can take those out first making it easier but usually once you aggro one they all come for you.

One suggest your 3-2-2-2 which is a mistake always take componets over ships so at next level go 3-4-3-3 the weapons do the damage not the type of ship they are in.
Go with the Kimogila with 3 weapons, image-rec ml and a micro-chaff. Get reforced cert 5 armor, 1k+ shields with 9+ recharge and a cert level 3 flt comp.
Cert 7 weapon will do about 40% more damage then cert 5 weapons

Thank you very much for the help, I'll be trying out all suggestions tonight and hopefully I'll get past this mission : )

For some reason the RSF ships don't move untill the bad guys hit them. Try hiding behind the RSF reinforcements totrick the baddies into hitting the RSF ships.
When taking one the YT make sure you try to attack it from the top of bottom. If you try to come at it edge wise both of it's guns will nail you. Also try targeting the guns first.
