Freelance CorSec Mission3 has me whipped. I can get the first two parts fine. The last (?) part is where I get borked. The big and the little escorts come in. Well, my ship could be going Warp 15 and that big ship would STIL pound me into mulch. I use IFF scramble, does not help. The min you attack they come right back at you. So the choice is a big slow ship with tons o armor that is an easy target, or a fast light ship that is...well and easy and QUICK target (couple shots, few missiles and I am hitting EJECT.

My server is Tarqunis, when you look at the list of helpers, you see my delmia. There is a wopping THREE people on the entire server that are signed on to help. That is 1 per faction. Heck some servers have 10 helpers in 1 faction alone.

Would have been nice if the devs could have foreseen how few people would be playing, hard to get help out there.

I'm on Tarquinas. You can send me a tell anytime for help (provided you're Rebel on ground).

Once you get into tier 3 missions, JTL becomes very group oriented. You will find that most missions from now on you will need help with. Your best bet is to get guildies to help you. If your not guilded, try going to a bussy starport and advertise you need help. For that matter, If you play on the eclipse galaxy, I'll help you.

Don't hesitate to ask for help. Many master pilots are willing to help out since they know how frustrating the missions can be. But, part of getting through the missions is learning about the skills at your disposal. When I started flying I never really used the driod commands. Only after getting stuck did i realize their usefulness. I suggest getting some droid chips with programs from other pilot proffs that can help. weapon overload is a real good one.

Well you cant use skills you have not learned yet. I got all the droid skills I can use on a chip (cap to sheild 1n2, rea OL 1-2, cap overload 1,2)

What I need is a freking clocking device.

Yes you can use skills you haven't earned yet and skills from other proffesions. Get blank droid chips and have them programmed by someone who does have the skill you want.

its worth it to take the time on the GVWS and find the best components you can use at your level too. Finding quality crafted engines, reactors, shields and capacitors and looted engines, weapons, and shields will give you a lot more offense, defense, and maneuverability. Try using the new heavy starter ships, if you can find them. The heavy Scyk will give you more mass than you could use at your level, plus a highly maneuverable and hard-to-hit ship. With a good gun and WO3, you'll have enough offense to handle your T3 missions.

I was able to solo up to 4444 in Crimson Phoenix without much trouble, and that was before CtSS/CO and using WO2 (the nonbuggy one), so its definitely doable. Just takes time, strategy, patience and honed skills

Yep, one problem is you have level 1 programs loaded still, wasting space. Load reactor overload 2, cap overload 2, catoshielshunt 2 and find some Imperial player/vendor to get engine overload 2 and weapon overload 2. That still room for mute droid I think, which is nice to run after all others are running, so you don't get the graphic lag every time you use shieldshunt.

I think you'll find the kimo a LOT more flyable with engine overload. I soloed CorSec last year until 4/4/3/3 or somewhere near that in Dunelizard then Kimo then Rhik. This mission definitely took me getting the kimo well flown, well armed and well aimed on several missile launch passes.

Best of luck!

I cant seem to remember that mission. What are the big and little escorts and do you just have to blow them up?

there is a helper list in the pilot faq i think, if not do a search for it.

I was stuck and enlisted the help of the people on the list. completed a mission that i had put over 48 hours of flight time into that evening. Was great to finally finish it!

This is exactly what you need to do, and get the best flightcomputer you can fit in. (v3 if your droidbox is still tier2, v4 if you have the tier3 box)..

if you are stuck with the V3 flightcomp you will have about 70 program space to play with (level 3 overloads take 20 each.. level 2 takes 10)

I would suggest running the following droidprograms in this order: reactor overload 2, weapon overload 3, engine overload 3, capacitor overload 2. this leaves you with just enough space to cram in capacitor to shield shunt 2. (and make sure you have your CtSS hotkeyed.. i have mine on f4 for example).

what this will give you that you dont have already is about double firepower and 30% more speed and manouverability.

once you get the tier3 droidbox, get a v4 flightcomp and use reactor overload 3, weapon overload 3, engine overload 3, capacitor overload 3, and cram in level 3 or 4 capacitor to shield shunt. this flightcomp will serve you well until you reach master.
