I could not put good weapons on my ship due to a weight issue. As I was trying to fix this issue I figured out that I was flying a Dunelizard ship. Had not really even thought about it since I was doing so well (until Tier 3 mission 2 CorSec). I finally saw that I had skipped a whole skill box. I could get a bigger ship, put the good stuff on and kick butt......well.....no....
I did all this got a ship with over 80k in weight capicity and THREE weapons slots plus torpedo slots. I did all this got two blasters with damage of over 2000, the works. Before with my DuneLiz I could get to the last part easy (then I got killed)
With the new ship I cant even get throgh the first attack of the Black Sun ships! I am using the same weapons I had before, seems like the ships are twice as strong now that my ship is twice as strong....talk about a cheating enamy.
I cant seem to ever find help in game to get this dang thing done, and I cant add anything more to my ship (at the weight limit for THIS ship as well)
If this is what I have to look foreward to, I can see I will never Master this prof.

I'm also stucked here, my problem is with the spawn of Black Sun ships. Does it have an end? What do you have to do to finish this quest??
Thanks in advance

Bigger is not always better
a small ship can be deadly is well used, even if it have not 3 RE lv10 weapons
for "grinding" the lizard is a very good ship, expecially at tier 2-3 when you will have not much mass problems.
here some advice to configure your lizard
a) grab the best (faster) engine you can use/fit (up to mk4)
b) grab a very good shield generator (at this level crafted ones are very good)
c) for the lizard use2 lv6-7 weapons (if you have mass and cert), lv8+ weapons imo are too big gor the lizard
d) use the lowest mass reactor, flight comp and boosters (crafted with speed > acc)
e) armor, missiles and counters are optional
f) use computer programs; weapon overload3, engine overload3 are fundamental, capacitator to shield is also very usefull.
g) take off and blast them all!

Zilrod is right, try going back to the Dunelizard. Why don't you list out your equipment loadout and we can tell you how you can improve it. You might just need more flight practice, or you can bring a wingman or two to help.

Make sure you have one of the big dunelizards too, should be around 80k mass or so.

Acutally, 85-86k mass. Also, if you're using a style 2, you should switch to style 1. It's slightly smaller so you won't get hit quite as often.

I will check my stats (cant seem to login to SWG right now). If I recall my DuneLiz was only in the mid 60k for weight range. If I ran with no armor I would last about 5 secs when that last wave hits. I figure I could also get the fastest engine possible for my ship I have now (think its Kligola or something.) and just put on weapons and sheilds.
Seems like the weigh settings really need to be fixed, they have it set up now so that you HAVE to leave something off and you get killed for it.
I dont think I can get Mark IV I am only certd up to level 7 equipment.

Mark IV = cert 7, Mark V = cert 9.
If you Dunelizard is not around 85k (+/- 1k) mass, go buy an 85k one. Early in JTL, its mass was increased.

The enemy didn't change, you got bigger and slower, thus easier to hit. I like my ships big and heavy but you seem to be better off flying a lizzie.
If you're on Eclipse, send me a tell. I'm always willing to help out people.

Like everyone else said, make sure you have an 85k mass Lizzy, and equipment is the key. Spend some time shopping around for componants. Also the Weapon Overload 3 droid program is very usuful too. I've used my lizzy all the way to master. And if you're still having problems, get some help, sometimes event just someone to share the arggo is all it takes

I just finished this mission myself after about 18 attempts. The trick for the second part is to disable, not destroy. Disable the three, then go to the second rendezvous point.
**edit I don't think they will ever stop coming if you destroy rather than disable, as I was on about my 5th wave when I decided to try to just disable and move on.
Same thing once you "drop off the cargo" to the decoy, about 8 or so tier 3 ships will jump in.. use the same strategy. Once they are all disabled, they are sitting ducks. I think it's actually a timed mission as well as I was still fighting two when I got the mission successful message and the two ships jumped out.
