Any Astromech will work as long as it has a Data Module. You then have to 'Program Droid' from the radial menu and install the programs the same way you do on the Flight Computers. You're certified up to v5 Droids if you're Tier 4. (I assume you are, since you're flying the Actis Interceptor.)

Then in the 'Manage' menu at the Starship Terminal, you install the Droid into the Chassis. The Droids name should turn red when its installed. But it has to have the programs you want installed before you load it and launch.

I had to buy an Astromech for my Actis since I'd been using Flight Computers the whole time before. It took me a while to get it set up so they were both basically identical.
