Been bugged about new ships in the expansion being handed out like candy, and totally trumping the old models. At least I was until I thought of something today that hadn't occured to me.
We tend to see the eye candy of the new ships, and have largely forgotten the other big JtL change coming. How are they going to gate the new ships? Hopefully with missions and hard work, but also with rare resource. Where is that resource going to come from? Uh huh, you see it now too. ASTEROIDS.
Base chassis take unnamed resource, and are pretty easy to craft. New ships will more than likely take new, untapped resources, be ready to work to get what you need for your new ships kids, hopefully it will be a fun challenge, and i look forward to it. 
Can't believe it didn't occur to me sooner...

ya thats a thought to get the modified parts you need the speical materials only space miners can get. Man that would blow because the prices will be soooo high at first aleast.

That's a possibility. Those asteroids might even be needed to craft those bionic limbs. I don't know...knowing the Devs they just might use the cookiee-cutter/cut-n-paste method. Look at the Krayt, Modified X-wing, Mod. Z-95, Mod. TIE Fighter, Mod. Interceptor, and Mod. Advanced.

Look at what they're doing to combat, you really expect things to be at all in-depth or intricate anymore?

Exactly right, you guys are giving them way to much credit. They are dumbing this game down to lure all the 8-13 year olds from WoW. i am surprised Picachu with a lightsaber was not anounced, because I can see it coming...or maybe all Jedi instantly become Gungan...or Ewok...

Eh, I'm disappointed in seeing only two modified ships while the Imperials get three. Sure the X-Wing is neat, but I was really hoping for a modified B-Wing or something. A B-Wing with higher mass and better handeling would be awsome. 
I would've mined every asteroid in every system for such a ship. Ah well...
