What are the best overload programs to run, and how many can you run at once?

are there any side effects?

if this is posted somewhere already please point the way.

thank you

All depends what you run reactor wise really,if you have a decent one then you should at least run reactor overload 3 weapon cap overcharge 3 weapon overload 3 engine overload 3.....theres others like shield shunt ect but as im imp i dont bother with them I believe Reb/Neutral pilots like them tho...as for drawbacks...you do take damage on components when you use these commands so unless you fly entirely in deep space (Instand repair/no decay) then eventually your stuff will wear out.

Bah sorry forgot to say...How many you can run depends on which flight comp/droid you have the higher the better...if you run a lvl 6 you can just about run all you need...

No lvl 4's are very good but again it all depends on your reactor..these comms put stress on it so you run reactor overload 1st so all the others work ok....the reason i usually run 3's is there isnt a great leap to the 4's and when you run weapon overload 3 weapon cap overcharge 3 the cap never moves...even on a Krayt (4 guns with passenger) so its basically not that there not good just not needed :0 i suggest playing around till you find a selection that fits you and your ship best...in my oppressor i use weap capovercharge 3 weap overload 3 reactor overload 3 engine overload 4...hope this helps

do CO and WO draw power from the reactor also?

WO3 should, but is bugged and doesn't.
WO 1,2,4 are not bugged and do (thats why everyone uses WO3)

CO doesn't

Actually WO3 reduces the energy requirement of all weapons. I also heard that WO4 was the opposite, increased energy consumption but reduced damage but i did not try that out.

Weapon and Cap Overload 3 is a must usually.
Engine Overload makes you faster and more agile, if you can use it, then do.
Reactor Overload is usuallyneeded if you use Engine Overload (use it BEFORE you use Engine overload), since EO uses more reactor. EO 3 uses 333% of the normal reactor (means, if your Engine usually uses 1000 Reactor units, after EO3 it will need 3333, and if your reactor can't support that, it will start shutting components down to power your engine). EO4 has a 1000% increase (yes 10 times as much, so only use it if you know you can support its power).
Reactor Overload 3 increases your Reactor output by 60% and RO4 by 90%

Also do NOT use Weapon Overload 1, 2 or 4, only Level 3.

Cap to Shield Shunt is a must have program as well. Use Level 4 if you can, Level 3 if you need to safe some space in your FC.

Level 3 Overload programs do damage to your components, but it can be completely repaired if you repair every time you land again (and before you use the programs again), and you don't get more damage to those components (in combat). Level 4 Overloads damage your components that much, that it will always cause decay to your components, unless you're an Ace and can repair in Deep Space.
Cap to Shield Shunt is no Overload program so doesn't cause damage, so you can use the highest version of it.

A good setup is: RO3, EO3, CO3, WO3, Cap to Shield 4.
This takes 105 space in your FC which is enough for a Level 4 Computer (you get that at tier 3).
