Alright, I'm having trouble with JTL (as the thread title says). First of all, I joined the hardest Imp pilot division unbeknownst to me -- Storm Squadron. Anyways, I have been given a mission to take out one of Nym's smuggler ships. I believe it's something along the lines of the Loki Claw? I can't beat this mission though because my TIE/IN just gets pummled by the guns of the LClaw. I've tried about 4 times now and I keep failing. So I figure I'd grind out Equipment 2 and get some better guns, shields, armor, etc. etc. and see if I can try again. Well, I get all the XP needed for Equipment 2, but when I talk to my leader of the SS in Bestine, he just tells me to go back to Nym's and talk to the technician (to re-start the mission). I've tried talking to Lt. Akal in Bestine as well to get training for Equipment 2, but he just tells me that I don't have enough the experience for training? I've even traveled to Naboo to see if I could find an Imperial pilot trainer and he just says that I'm working for another division and can only offer me duties.

How am I supposed to level up when no one will give me training?

On Tier 2 you only get training if you do a mission and have the XP.
On Tier 3 you get training after a missin (no XP needed)
On Tier 4 its like Tier 2 again.
Master Mission is only a mission, no need for XP.

So your best bet is to ask a friend who's Ace or ask/hire another pilot to help you with this.

Or you decide "Well I'm not that far yet, I drop Storm Squadron and join another division" You need to talk to a pilot coordinator then (theres one in front of the Theed Palace, I think).

Is that the one from Nym's stronghold with the YT?

That is a HARD mission.

iirc I beat it by kncioking out the ship and then hyperspacing in zone. Repaired, then flew back for cleanup.

Welcome to Storm squad! The biotch of the emporer.

Yup, that's the mission. I figure I'm going to have to change divisions, but when I talk to an Imperial Pilot Coordinator on Bestine, the only options I have are either stop conversing or retire from the Imperial Navy. If I retire, does this mean I lose all my skills as an Imperial Pilot? 2/1/1/1?

That's right. If you drop your division, you basically drop all of your pilot skills and reup with the next division.

I've been in the Black Eps twice, the Inquisition once, and the Smuggler's Alliance twice. Each time I moved, I had to drop Pilot completely.

Make sure you unpack each ship and redeed it before you drop your pilot skills!
