Thread: Why so many Boosters?

This is something thats been bothering me for a long time now and could be just my bad luck, but, why is it that around 70%+ of space loot seem to be boosters?

I enjoy looting new space components, I'm always looking for ways to improve my ship with the next Re'ed component, but after long loot runs both in regular and deep space I end up coming back with what seems like an inv full of boosters.

Has any one else experienced what seems to be a very high % drop of boosters or is it just me?!

I'm not one to complain about the armor, much. The L10s are good for cash, and I've got a couple 1k protection armors at 3.5k mass apiece.

Wouldn't you know, though... The same day I get the second 3.5k mass plate together, I find a 2.5k mass level 5 plate.

I find more droid interfaces than I do armor. But I agree, boosters, armor and DI's are the most frequently looted objects. I'd have to say that weapons are the least frequent drops.

Shields for me, and when I get em they're usually something like 219front/316back hunks o' junk

Everytime I loot a L8 shield, I pray quietly that it has a 26-27k mass

Not sure what is worse. Looting lvl8 shields with masses over 40k time after time or knowing I have a shield with a mass under 25k sitting on a server I very rarely play on............. ; (

Considering how crappy looted boosters are, I really think they drop way too often (same goes for the vast majority of looted generators). The frequency of armor I can understand, since that stuff decays super fast, but the abundance of loot boosters is really rather annoying.

On the other hand, it let me get up to 300k from selling 'em all off with a CL3 newbie.

For me weapons, shields and engines are the most infrequent loot drops, which is realy annoying since they're the most desired. I've all but given up on finding a L8 shield with ~26k mass :/

Although I do have some realy sweet Re'ed boosters but never use them since they're a waste of mass
