Thread: weapons: High damage vs. High refire
just wondering what is better for non-pob ship,
(2300-3900 damage, .400 refire, .650 vs shields/armor), or
(1700-3200 damage, .250 refire, .440 vs shields/armor)
As a rule with crafted weapons especially I prefer hgh refire rates(Note: High refire rate in this case means .25). With the given examples you have I think you can get the VS a bit higher and still get the .25 refire rate.

Well, I would say that the first question would be - How good of a shot are you?
If you are good at placing shots, I would go with weapon 1
If you like to, or need to continuously fire, I would go with weapon 2
If my math is correct:
Weapon one - about 5k dps
Weapon two - about 4300 dps

I was a bit puzzled by these weapons when I looked at them. They don't really match up with any weapons I have crafted or seen for that matter. I would be interested to know how they were made or REed or even if they exist.

experimental ion cannon
experimental blaster
I currently use looted subpro/(something i forgot) quad blasters
ahh I see said the blind man who didn't read. Generally in a one weapons ship if I am not using REed weapons I go with a .25 refire blaster, The ones I have made depending on crafting results I can get .490 vs. In a ship with two or more weapon points I use a combo of at least one quick fire ION cannon and quickfire blasters. As time goes on I use crafted less when possible because the reactor drains are a bit high for my liking.
