Thread: Ideas: Just toying with a few new droid commands.
/powerDownShip
-Diables ship engines and boosters.
-Removes ship from radar but still manually targetable.
-Weapon capacitor and Sheild Energy Drains.
-Impoved versions reduce drain rates.
Obiwan did it. Bobo Fett did it. Han Solo did it. Has great potential in PvP battles and ambushing.
/powerUpShip
-Re-enable Ship engines and boosters.
-High droid recycle time.
-Improved version decrease droid recycle time.
/boostTargetingComputer
-Increases the range in which the lead indicator-targeting pip appears.
-Increases the Droid Interface's reactor drain.
-Does not increase weapon range
-Improved version increase range and reactor drain.
/boostWeaponRange
-Increases the range of weapons
-Decreases the amount of damage
-Improved version increase range and decreases damage
/boostMissileRange
-Increases the range of missiles
-Decreases the amount of damage
-Improved version increases range and decreases damage
/widenMissileTargetingCircle
-widens the arc for missile targeting
-increases time to lock on with missle
-Improved version increases arc and lock time
/partsDump
-Spoofs Missiles like chaff always works 100%
-Damages droid interface
-Improved version does ???
/linkHyperspace
-last for 10 seconds
-if a targeted ship activates the jump to light speed with in the 10 seconds, the ship also begin plotting the jump to the same location
This may cause severe server stress if a whole bunch of ships linkHyperspace on the same target but the visual of a lot of ships coming out of hyper at the same time would just be phenominal.
/wingmanDesignate
-target ship shows up as a green dot on radar or a different kind of bracket appears on wingman
-the target of the wingman also is bracketed differently or colour different
/wingmanAssignTarget
-sends the current target to a designated wingman
-yet again, another colour and or bracket shows up around target on wingmans radar
/jamDroid
-prohibits targeted ship from using droid commands(disables) for a period of time
-ship using jamDroid will have droid is also disabled for the same period of time
-improved version lasts longer
/smokeScreen
-creates a large trailing cloud of smoke
-damages booster
-improved version make larger cloud or longer lasting cloud.
This is not really a droid command...but i'd really like the ability to rename flight computers. It's a pain in the behind when using multiple computers on different ships.
Eh, could be fun. Would make people have to pick and choose what programs to run, at least.
And I definately want to be able to rename my computers. 3 level 6 flight computers gets confusing.

Love it

as a fan of long range shots I love this
/boostWeaponRange
-Increases the range of weapons
-Decreases the amount of damage
-Improved version increase range and decreases damage
same here
/boostMissileRange
-Increases the range of missiles
-Decreases the amount of damage
-Improved version increases range and decreases damage
not sure about this... I think missiles should be left alone
/widenMissileTargetingCircle
-widens the arc for missile targeting
-increases time to lock on with missle
-Improved version increases arc and lock time
definitly not... already really easy to get lock
/partsDump
-Spoofs Missiles like chaff always works 100%
-Damages droid interface
-Improved version does ???
interesting...

Love this but with decent coordination you can already do this
/wingmanDesignate
-target ship shows up as a green dot on radar or a different kind of bracket appears on wingman
-the target of the wingman also is bracketed differently or colour different
This would would be really nice but maybe not as a droid command
/wingmanAssignTarget
-sends the current target to a designated wingman
-yet again, another colour and or bracket shows up around target on wingmans radar
same as above
/jamDroid
-prohibits targeted ship from using droid commands(disables) for a period of time
-ship using jamDroid will have droid is also disabled for the same period of time
-improved version lasts longer
could be very interesting.... would certainly make ctss near useless in small pvp play
/smokeScreen
-creates a large trailing cloud of smoke
-damages booster
-improved version make larger cloud or longer lasting cloud.
this would be cool but I think it would cause too much lag. we already have enought lag issues with all the nebulae.

definitly... I am tired of launching with the wrong flight computer
I've been toying with some ideas for new droid commands or even a complete revamp.
The ship power down / up idea would be tricky to do with how fast the capacitor & shields drain and recharge.
The power up version should have increased regen time just as the power down might have increased drain.
When you say manually targetable, does that mean pressing Z or L would target them? If so, it would be pointless to use these. If its just using X to target whats in your reticle then it could have the function for ambush or losing pursuit in a asteroid field. And also if the bracket around your ship goes away too.
I was actually thinking of /partsdump as a freelance only pilot special. Same effect but instead you'd generate some surge of power in your shields from your capacitor or reactor that would distract or repel the missle away with a fairly high chance of success (maybe 75%-85% ??)
If its actually jettisoning spare parts...well I'm not sure its fitting that a droid would be programmed to do that. Unless you're actually ejecting the droid as a target for the missle, lol. Would fit better as a regular pilot special IMO.
I definitely like the ideas for using wingmen and designating targets. You could also have an option for escorting this target and disabling a target. Also adding some way of putting ships in formation around the wingleader would be good. It would automatically adjust to the slowest ship in the formation so nobody would get left behind and would look alot neater than everyone playing follow the leader with the /follow command.
It would be even greater if you could assign different types of formations that somehow would have different effects? Only example I could think of is some defensive formation where you're so close together your shields would overlap and result in stronger shields for the group.
Great ideas though.

/powerDownShip
Sounds cool.
/powerUpShip
Sounds cool
/boostTargetingComputer
intersting, but no practicality without next 2
/boostWeaponRange
I like it! Requirement: Using Weapon Overloads or Weapon Tune turns off this command, and vice versa.
/boostMissileRange
I like it! See note under weapon range.
/widenMissileTargetingCircle
Interesting. Good for a bomber vs tiny fighter.
/partsDump
Interesting.
/linkHyperspace
Very Cool.
/wingmanDesignate
Very Cool.
/wingmanAssignTarget
Interesting
/jamDroid
Evil, I like it.
/smokeScreen
Interesting

Parts dump would have to dump all loot from inventory
I can see it now....
Man I have 3 missiles coming in.
No more chaff...
R2 dump our parts to get rid of those missiles...*bo eep* clunk.
Cool. The parts got rid of the missile.
Wait a minute, didn't I have my uber Reverse Engineered gun in my inventory.
NNNOOOOOOOooooo.....

/powerDownShip
/powerUpShip
Like this set a lot
/linkHyperspace
Yeah, good idea, might be hard on the server, as you said.
/wingmanDesignate
Should change colour just from grouping, like on the ground
/wingmanAssignTarget
Again, should work like it does for turrets or on the ground. A grey box around what you are targetting
/jamDroid
Good idea, if implemented in a way that can't be abused
/stop
Instantly powers the ships engine down (or applies negative energy to them? don't know about the fluff of it), bringing the ship to an instand, dead stop from whatever speed it was at.
This would add *such* a great new layer to PVP space combat. Someone camping your tail at point blank? Use /stop, and reverse the situation!

Some good ideas there, would make things really interesting! I think they would have to up the droids memory capacity a little. Just the basic programs can max out a v6.
Thats good... make people choose what programs to load. it is called tactics.
