This is first one from Dathomir, I do the first couple of parts easy. Then it tells me to go to the waypoint and wait for a ship, the only thing there are lots of tier 3 imperial fighter, waves and waves of them. I was fighting for over an hour and they just kept coming, never less then 3-4 after me, many times 5+. After a while they just wore me down. Am I missing something, or is this a mission I need help with?
I am using the longprobe with really nice equipment, but that long with that many tier 3 fighters shooting me is frustrating. I am still using a level 2 astromech, maybe I will upgrade that and get some higher level commands to see if that helps. Any suggestions on this one?

You may need to dock with a ship before they stop spawning. Clear the initial spawn, then dock, it's best to have a mate with you, you dock, he holds of the TIE's. It's a while since I did this, but I think that's right.

I get past the docking part without a problem, then I am told to go to the waypoint to wait for a ship that does not come, only ties.

I am an imperial pilot so i dont know this mission but I just did a tier 3 mission for Storm Squadron that had waves like this.Found out the I had to kill all of 1 spawn before the next showed up 4 times in a row to complete this part. If the next spawn showed up before the previous was defeted, it reset the count.

Hmm thats very possible, spawns seemed to be based on the # of ties that remained, and I was disabling them rather then destroying, trying to keep from being overwhelmed. I will see if I can find someone to help me out.

Woot! Thanks for the info! ![]()
I need to reconfigure my joystick, I always rely on using target closest enemy which does not work when you have 4-5 disabled targets. At least now I know what I was doing wrong. ![]()

Hehe, target nearest enemy is good, use it all the time, but also have a key or button bound to target last attacker or something like that. Helps alot on those disable missions.

hehe yes, I was always using the nearest enemy joyb6, until this mission, when i unbound joyb5 from toggle tractor to target under reticle
and I use 'r' to target the last ship who hit me

i just finished this mission yesterday night, and have some useful info for ya (I think you're talking about the part that goes from just docking with the lambda shuttle for the codes, and then having to meet a rebel gunboat to dock with to give the codes to):
so on your way to the new waypoint after docking with the lambda, when you are about 1k away, a wave of ties appear. Then a second wave appears shortly thereafter. If you keep killing the ties, a new wave of ties spawn when there are "3 targets remaining". so what i did was to keep disabling the ties, but do NOT destroy them.
After you disable 6, go to the waypoint, and the gunboat appears in about 10-20 seconds, says something to the effect of "good job on those fighters, lets do this quickly before more come". I did /dock, and no further ties spawned on me. After docking was complete, I could do the rest of the mission
This took 2 deaths for me to realise @_@. It's the first mission in which killing the ties was a bad thing, since it induced more waves of ties. The first time, I was destroying them over and over, and got overwhelmed when 2 back to back waves of interceptors pounded on me. The second time, I noticed that if I quickly disable and go to the next, that the waves came a lot slower (but I was going back and destroying the disabled ships in the "calm"). Died when 2 back to back waves of interceptors pounded on me again.
The third time, the first 2 waves were back to back interceptors, but I managed to disable all 6, saw the "5 targets remaining" message as the first one I disabled self-destructed. I beelined to the waypoint, saw the gunboat approach after waiting a few seconds, and /dock. Finally got that mission done with!

man i just did this on about the 4th try but i guess i didn't disable the ties qucik enough because they kept coming so i finally busted ass to the wp, docked and died seconds after the mission updated...so i was able to die and continue the mission.

Yah, someone else said it so I'll just echo it:
In addition to having a 'Target closest enemy', it's VERY handy to have a 'Target under recticle' option on your hat buttons.

I don't HAVE Target Nearest Enemy on my joystick, just Target Under Reticle, it seemed more important. For nearest enemy and last attacker, I just use the keyboard (only 2 buttons on my joystick).
