Thread: Devs, what is going on with the Y-8?

Can anyone in the know please let us know what is going on with the Y-8? The mission to get it is broken and so no one is able to get it anymore. The people that do have it can only paint it yellow. I don't even care that you cant mine with it, I just want it for fun since I paid $25 for the expansion so I could get this ship. Please let us know if the ship and mission to get the ship are being worked on. Thanx!

Can a dev just say "working on it" or "ditching the y-8 altogether"?

The ship is being worked on. They are adding two more turrets to it. This reqires a redesign of the exterior, and probably of the interior, too. I expect that the mission will be fixed when the Y-8 v2.0 is finished.

They are going to ditch the whole thing, and create a new huge junker ship that i can pointless fly around in.

They've known about the issue for a while; despite asking follow-up questions a few times I don't know how far into the fixing process they are. An opportunity's come up to really stress the importance of fixing this quest, though, and I'll be taking advantage of that.

All I can say is " Bless you TomoRainer". Glad that we've got people like you looking out for us. O see alot of players ( at times I'll hhave to include myself) raising caine in the forums about things, and generally venting all over Space. But the fact that we ARE venting, I suppose, is a good thing. We don't actually give it up, while those that never complain often do.
I just have to wonder, though: correspondents see these things posted here and realize that this is impostant to us, while "others" read them and just don't get it. One of the things that really gripe me is the "No information" bug. Of all the bugs in the game, this one is the most dangerous. If those working on the Y-8 would just give us an update every so often, the flaming and complaining, while it would still go on, wouldn't be nearly as acidic. Ofcourse, the Y-8 Mission bug is bad, and the one that I'm most upset about, but this goes for all of the ingame problems. Maybe there need to be one thread titled " Ingame Mission Bug Updates" where we are told the current status of these bugs?
Anyway, thank you very much for making my Rolaids treatment not necessary today.
The information is greatly appreciated.
