Finally got through that third Tier 3 in Storm Squadron! Slight pause in the story to congratulate myself: Yay me! Moving on...

Doing the second Tier 4 mission, I got tired of blowing things up and decided to just shoot the guns off of a couple of the X-wings and let the thing take care of itself. Things are going pretty well, and I'm browsing the forums while I follow the transport on autopilot. A short time later, the X-wings hyper out, which is pretty odd. Nothing new spawns, however, so I shrug and go back to my reading. Follow... follow... follow... I think to myself "This mission sure does seem to be taking a long time". About five minutes later, I get the message of the day for me, "Connection to SWG lost". My connection was a serious pain in the butt yesterday. At this point, I just walked away from the game for a while.

I came back this morning to do the mission again, only to find that I never seem to have gotten it. I go back to my contact on Endor, and he treats me as though I need to grind more XP. I pop myself off into Kessel and slaughter a few ships (and a Vette that happened to be passing through, I think I'm getting pretty good at this), go back to the contact, get my 3rd skill trained, and recieve the second mission again.

So now I'm definately going to be missing out on some of the story. That makes me kind of sad. I didn't mind so much when the "Patrol too fast" bug hit me during Inquisition, as I'd already done that. But Storm is new for me, and I'd like to have had all the story. Meh. Also, does anyone know why going LD counts as passing the mission?

If I had to guess, I'd say that was the last leg of the mission, and it just kept you on follow the whole time you were LD while the Rebs impotently plinked away at the transport but were completely unable to kill it till it reached its hyper point.

Just a guess, of course, but one time shortly after JTL came out I was on some interminable Imperial mission that took ages longer than I expected and so I had to leave the house before it was through. Instead of quitting, I just hit /follow on the transport and turned off my monitor to see what would happen (and also from defiant, stupid frustration I'd have to spend another 60-90 minutes on that mission again), and when I came back and logged back on my mission had been completed, too.

I suppose it could just have been the very same bug, but that it was the last leg seems like the simplest explanation. Do you know whether there would have been any more to your mission after that segment?

So the lesson of the day is..on any escort mission, pack a nice shield, /follow the freighter and go make coffee/roast marshmallows/both .

Oh..providing that escort mission is the last leg of the mission.

Well I had a similar bug, so I'm not sure if you're right Tomo..

I was on a tier4 corsec mission, I did the first part no problem, then I had to kill two gunboats. I realized I was lacking the equipment and I decided to land, retrieve my "light" components and do the mission on a bellbulab.

Well I did hyperspace, went home, got the stuff and went back to the trainer. I couldn't get the mission anymore, he would only offer duty missions.. I thought I was bugged somehow, was about to file a ticket to complain, then I decided to go grind the 200K expI needed to buy a tier4 boxand see what would happen.

I got the exp then I decided to log out for the night.

Result: the day after, I went to the trainer andhe let me learn a box, somehow the mission was complete.. The interesting point is that I did NOT get the mission rewad (lvl8 shield :/ ) so, in my opinion, this is a bug and not a real "mission complete".

I have no clue of how this happens or how to replicate it, as far as I know when you hyperspace out of the system the mission goes incomplete.

I'm not certain, but I am pretty sure there was. I was at the "escort" part of the "Disable the captured transport and escort it back to base" mission. Now, I've never done Storm Squadron before, but most other tier 4 missions have 3 parts to them.

I've seen both of those bugs, among others. I had one escort where everytime the bad guys showed up, they just sat there in space, not moving.
