Heh...I'm in my "three week pause" before REing (also because I'm in the initial stages of gathering the resources needed to master SW on my defunct Jedi), where I'm making SURE I've got the best I can find.

I've got Tomo's trumped in every category but mass, and even there, it's not off by much.

My RE behavior is as follows:

1. I find 2+ parts that'll beat my current best in a category/type of component.
2. I then draw up the MINIMUMS I'd need to beat my bests in the other categories.
3. After a LONG period, I find said parts and assemble them, waiting until ALL categories will show a MARKED improvement over my past best RE for that specific type.
4. I set the parts aside and begin a three-week-long "Screw You, Murphy" stage where I send myself into a looting overdrive that'd make Ali Baba jealous.
5. I RE...then find a better part within a week, usually.

The one exception...

6. In the case of a full-ship overhaul like the one for Phoenix, I'm going to post "bounties" on the Eclipse trade forums for better parts, to ENSURE I have the finest setup possible for the RE time.

Phoenix won't so much be the product of a single part...rather...the product of an entire reformation of parts leading into what may quite possibly be the finest and deadliest PvP ship ever to launch.
