I've taken to pretty much always grinding in Kessel. Tier 5 ships really aren't any more threat than Tier 4 ships are, and those gunboats are like a giant floating sign that reads "FREE XP HERE!"

Gunboats in kessel for the win, 20k+ xp off each one once you get the hang of taking them out.

Or black sun duty missions (if you're trainer offers you them).

Or if you're looking for a way to do it with no danger at all, linear miasma on endor, can get pretty dull though after a while.

Personally, I prefer Tier 4 duties if I'm grinding out those 1mil exp boxes. The Tier 5s in Kessel sometimes are really slow to spawn. With the tier 4 duties you get a garanteed spawn as quick as you can fly from one wp to the next, not to mention you get some tier 5s every few waves as well. Plus if pick up the BS duties (if you're rebel or freelance) there's always a chance to get a BS helm at some point.

Check the FAQ

I know for rebels you get there by talking to the rebel space station at dantooine and for privateers its the last nav station at dathomir, not sure about imps.

You dont have to be ace to get into kessel just deep space.

For Imps it's the Claw Station in Endor space, Durillium Sea jump point.

The problem with Kessle is spawn is few and far between and posts like this one promoting Kessle has been makeing the zone over camped on many servers.

Personaly I have been enjoying the Kashyyyk station tier 4 dutys. Warning: occasionaly a tier 5 missile happy gunboat with tier 4 fighter escorts show up. There is a way that helps you deal with them without having to do all the work yourself. But the benefit to doing this duty is you are constantly gaining EXP at a steady nonstop pace and the loot drops are good all that and it's a thrill ride to boot. You can easaly rack up 1mill exp in about 1 1/2 hour and make a good 500k credits in the process.

Tips about the gunboats: Before starting the mission, activate the POI waypoints for the kashyyyk station, Tripp's hunting ground and the other hunting ground (can't remember the guys name). when the mission starts the first spawn will be close to the station. You want to drag that spawn to 1 of the 2 hunting grounds and kill it there. All the other waypoints and waves will be around the hunting grounds. When the gunboats show up drag it into the hunting ground and let the rodans help you kill it while you dispatch the fighter escorts. Once the fighters are gone the GB's shields should be fairly well battered. If they are not then I drag the GB over to the other hunting ground which should have a full fleet of ships. Let the rodans beat it down to the armor before you start taking pot shots at it.

Take your Tier4 duty mission that is against fighters. Do it from start to finish (normally 60-120 minutes). This will get you 1) all the XP you need for the next box, 2) around 200k-250k in credits (buy better parts), 3) Around 35-55 looted components you can sift through for great RE jobs, 4) Occasionally a loot item that you can sell for a large lump sum (BS Ace helmet, Slicing components, Etc).

You really can't do better than these Tier4 duty missions. I get better loot from those than I do in Kessel or Deep Space, mainly due to the shear number of looted items. Most of the loot will be crap (Sell this to your friendly ShipWright, we need them to get KSE disks) and keep the prime stuff for your personal collection.

Oh, I wouldn't suggest selling the BS Ace Helmet normally but if you don't want it and need credits they are worth a pretty credit! I sold my first one and almost got sick when I learned how rare they are and how much they are worth. I've since killed many thousands of BS's and been able to loot1 more.... This one is just on display...)

I just completed a pilot tree and all I did at each tier was the duty mission to kill fighters for each box. It went very fast and I had all the loot I could hold, a few were great loots.

there's always the blackscale spawn in kashyyyk of tier 3-4 non aggro ships that I haven't seen anyone be able to keep clear so for all purposes it's a constant spawn just hotkey target nearest NPC ship

Do a few quests for the dathomir station, and start grinding tier 3 and 4 rebs for duty missions... one circle of duty gives you 3k faction and about 300k in cash... (with loot sold)
