I recently started to get into piloting and was wondering what the best combination of available componentsI could achieve on the Ywing Longprobe. My current progress is 2111 and I want to get the best components i can as i continue the grind. thanks

I've gone pretty much all SW crafted components - and I've done all of Vortex Squadron solo (staring with a new toon, so no pre-loaded comps from prior mastery)- using exclusively the Longprobe since 2-1-1-1. And all I have left is to run out and do the vette.

With plenty of mass to play with, especially in the tier 2-3 range, you can go buy the best crafted components and have room to spare until you get into the fatter lvl 7 components or so. Even then, I've not been hard pressed at all with mass.

Get the best refire / dmg weapons you can find that you're certed for, and run your droid commands. Life will be surprisingly enjoyable in this ship.

Definitely keep the best shields you can fit, and you should still have mass left for respectable armor (think that's the only looted component I still use is Armor). Go for a better P/Y/R rating on the engines over top speed, it'll keep things off of your 6, especially at lower levels when the engines tend to not be so impressive.

That's all I've got. I'm sure the grizzly old ones around will have a bit more to share.

A good shipwright will have everything you need until you start getting enough loot to RE something nice for yourself. I've mastered 3 squadrons so far and I'm still using mostly crafted gear. It can take a while to get the really good RE's.

No kidding. Every evening after landing I sort through an inventory full of parts ranging from "utterly useless" to "might be useful one day... or not" to find a single weapon or engine of an acceptable level. Kinda' discouraging. (But worth it once you finally find what you need...)
