Thread: Can a non shipwright reverse engineer loot?

Im not a shipwright, Alliance pilot 4-3-3-3,and was wondering can i reverse engineering loot?
If so what do i need to do this?

More specifically no since the level of gear you can RE is tied to what skills you have in Shipwright. A Novice level Shipwright can only RE very low level gear, for example. A non-shipwright can RE level 0 equipment, which does not exist.

It is worth noting however that you can be given a RE kit, and collect your own loot, put it in the kit so you get to choose what kit you use. You can then pass it on to your friendly neighborhood Shippy to work his magic on. That's what I do with my RE stuff, that's if i don't seel them by mistake, as you can still sell them even though it's in the kit, as I have found out to my dismay
