The grievous fighter is open to anyone. Imps and rebs on ground faction can get it. The challenge is actually KILLING the guy you loot it from.

However, to get the Jedi Fighter as a reb, you have to both dump your ground faction and your pilot skills. Same thing for the Imps to get the Arc. Which means perilous hours of fp grinding to get back to your rank if you're a high ranked rebel. If you can find someone who is willing to delegate you 5200 imp fp though, you should be able to go privateer and grab the fighter without losing all your rebel fp (over the cap point, that is).That would require exactly 11,320.4 imp fp for an imp colonel. So don't expect to get that easily. Same goes for the arc with imps.

as of todays patch you just need to be rebel or imp ground faction to get the arc and jedi ships. Like i am neutral in space buti changed factions to get the quest started. The down side is i am not high enough lvl to kill the things to get them.

to be a rebel pilot you MUST be rebel same goes for imperials

To get ARC-170 = Must be Rebel Ground Faction

To get Jedi Star Fighter = Must be Imperial Ground Faction.

To get Greivous Fighter = You can be any ground faction.
