There's an Alliance Pilot mission that you get as the last Tier 2 mission. It concerns capturing an Imperial officer to get security codes, etc. It goes something like this...

  1. Disable Imperial shuttle, defeat escorts, defend shuttle as droid affects escape

  2. Rendezvous with shuttle and get Imperial codes, defend shuttle

  3. Rendezvous with Rebel gunboat, transfer codes, defend gunboat

This mission throws ungodly amounts of Tie's and Interceptors in multiple waves at you. I've almost made it to the end, but the last wave of six enemies is just too much for my battered ship to take. I use the IFF trick and have to use the Emergency Shields once or twice since I get pasted so badly. Sometimes,non-mission NPC ships jump into the fray as well. I believe I have pretty good Level 5 components for my Longprobe (spent a lot of time searching the Galaxy for them). I use a "Heavy" for the shields and a Rendili drisruptor for the armor and I have Mark II proton missiles...but it isn't emough. I've played flight and space combat sims since they existed (remember F-15 Strike Eagle?) and am pretty good at them, so this is rather frustrating. I assumed that these missions were soloable...maybe they're not.

So, does anyone have any advice, or is there anyone on Sunrunner that could help mecomplete this mission?

Thanks,

Stick close to the gunboat once it spawns, its guns are pretty effective, and don't wait to kill the ties before docking with it. Shunt power to the shields and just go ahead and dock.

Dont destroy the waves, disable them. Buy some program chips like cap to sheild shunt, weapons overload, cap overload, and bring a wingman or 2.

For those who cry nerf...
The technical term for this is "systems balancing", prior to release. After release, it's still balancing, but changes can be considered nerfs or enhancements.
Since you don't have it yet, if you cry nerf, I'll make sure your name is on the list to spew chicken feathers as your characters talk.
