Just got my 3rd squadron ace and no badge last night so yeah its still there... but i got a medal instead.

I wish we could just opt out of Respec to gain our badges. Ah, well. Medal, you say??? Hmm... I may need to do some squadrons over.

give it 3 weeks and your respec ability will go away. as per their announcments.

what if you clicked on never for respec? can Igain badges now?
